Forget Lady In Red and most of what's been since. I strongly suggest that you listen to his earlier stuff. Albums like Crusader, Spanish Train and Other Stories, and The Getaway contain songs of great power and emotion. Listen to Borderline (The Getaway), a ballad to match Nevermore. Crusader is a multi-part epic of almost Bo Rhap proportions.

This guy was selling out Wembley Arena many times over when no one knew who he was. Then came Lady In Red and suddenly everyone knew him, and he's spent the rest of his career chasing another hit single.

If you really want to get a taste of early Chris de Burgh, get Best Moves, a compilation cd of some of his early stuff, Give it a few spins with a glass of wine and an open mind, and be amazed.

trust me.

I'm a huge fan of his early stuff, saw him live 3 times around 1980. Can take or leave most of his stuff since Lady In red.
I adore 'Satin Green Shutters' from his debut album 'Far From These Castle Walls'. It's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

That's Programme BTW. Your're not American, your're from Skem. But in answer to liking Chris De Burgh he is terrible, shite, ear-bleedingly bad. Anymore for anymore?
Guess who's back?
