Damn...anyone have Saginaw 76 too?;-) My best 'surprise' concert. I was asked to be designated driver for a friend's 18th birthday celebration. They told me they had tickets for Bob Seger. When asked who the warmup band was, they told me Seger, with Queen as the headliner.

uh....well, I accepted, hesitantly of course...

Damn, that was 29 years ago today. Someday I'll post the newspaper reviews for both concerts

My favorite Queen concert is Queen On Fire, Live at MK '82, followed closely by Live at Wembley '86.

Best concert EVER.

I recently listened to an audience recording of Frankfurt 1980 for the first time. That was great! Freddie was extremely energetic and sung very well that day. It's a pity that the audience is so loud on the recording, sometimes they sing louder than the band. But it must have been a hell of a party!

Newcastle 79 is awesome, too, but it suffers from the relatively poor sound quality.

Hammersmith 79 is my favourite though, maybe just because of the better sound quality.

i love Earls Court 77 and Wembley i think they are the best for each time period for Queen- (77 early Queen music), (wembley later Queen music)

I really love Houston 77. Great show, and the band in great form. What I´ve heard from the Newcastle 4-12-79-gig is out of this world. Still waiting for the whole show to fall on my doormat though, so for now it remains H77.
And Zoom 79. And Zoom 76. And Kopenhagen...shit, there are so many great shows.....

Can someone tell me what is so special about Earls Court?? They were lazy and the harmonies really sucked, a better alternative is from a week earlier in Glasgow, that concert is GREAT.

Oh, yes. I think they have much energy in Glasgow'77, which is brilliant and from the ADATR tour Bristol and Rotterdam are also great...
Besides, I really love Houston'77 and Hammersmith'79!

hammersmith 79 was a great show, leeds in 82 was also fantastic but, and i know its a cliche,but live aid was the best i ever saw them

This is interesting, and unfortunately I missed it when it was originally posted.

Greg Brooks says Jailhouse Rock was played on October 29th 1978, but someone who attended the show says Hound Dog was played. Is this yet another fable of Greg's?

But also, can we simply take the word of a Queenzone post? If it's true, then this is a big find in the history of Queen live. If not, then we are left to take the word of Greg, something which many of us hesitate to do all too often. Greg said Elvis died in 1978. I rest my case.
