We already know everything about Brian and Roger...and almost everything about Paul :D
Of course Spike and Jamie are worked a lot with Brian and Rog, so we know something what they are able to do, their skills and talent. But Danny, he is still a mystery to me...what about you, any thoughts? Anyone who has listened Blue Oyster Cult before?

Danny indeed is a very good bassplayer technically. Hope he fits in with the Queen material. He will most likely be the liveliest person on stage this tour. He's always running around and stuff. MOst of the time he's a visual spectacle, also playing contrabass and playing his regular bass with all kinds of weird things; e-bows, violinbows, vibrators (!)... But I wonder if he'll do that on this tour. Maybe he'd be grabbing too much attention ;-)

... excuse me everybody, wasn't Danny playing bass in the WWRY Vegas band? Should be familiar with (some) Queen material and not bad at it, then, I hope...

just wondering...

Don't think so.....think it's great to have a colourful bass player. Most bassists are static anyway. Sounds like he knows how to express himself. Wonder if we'll have a bass solo....

Thank you Thomas for spotting my Queen reference.

Only a true fan would have spotted it!

Do Danny and Jamie sing?

That would be pretty cool to add
2 more voices to the mix - as long as
they DO mix, that is.

Hi folks....just joined up and wanted to let you know a little about Danny Miranda. MOst Queen fans aren't that familiar with him, so I can shed some light (or is that dispel the fears? lol) for ya...

I've known Danny for a coupla years now, he did some tracks with my b and when he was in Blue Oyster Cult, and he also did a guest spot with us at a gig in Baltimore (we're from Long Island).

My trio played for two hours for a fun audience, and then we were joined by Buck Dharma of BOC and Danny for an hour's worth of Beatles tunes and oldies and such, and let me tell you, it was the most fun I ever had on stage! Danny is an amazing bass player...I would put him on a top five list any day...and he is a great guy as well.

As a musician, he has played a zillion styles...he loves country music, of all things (his favorite is Mary Chapin Carpenter), and plays everything from old to new of every style. His playing style can be very heavy or very funky, and his bass solos usually feature chords and double notes as well as typical bass stuff.

Danny loves to play...as I said, he's a great guy, friendly as anything, and always respectful of the band he's in...

He left BOC in the summer to play in the WWRY Vegas show, where he met Brian and Roger....obviously they hit it off.

I'll be perfectly honest...I think the Queen thing is a bad idea....I am one of those who believe they should use a different name...Brian and Roger could have called it "XYZ" and still played Queen songs, Roger songs, Brian songs, and songs of whoever else they had in the band as well. Would have kept the comparisons and ill feelings at bay, I believe.

But that didn't stop me from being thrilled for Danny...there's a gig from heaven, who wouldn't want that job?

So just remember...no matter what you think of the concept...don't point any of your aggressions or negativity at the three "non-Queen guys," caue they're just doing what we all wish we were doing! : )

so here's one opinion telling you they defintely made the right choice for bass player....
