Hi there
I'm doing a show called Brown Breat at the Harlow Playhouse in Harlow, Essex, UK, and my director has asked me to bring in an emotional Queen song for the funeral scene and I need your help to decide which one I could bring in. Every suggestion counts.
These are the ones I've chosen and I need your help to decide which one I could use.
Save Me
No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young)
Just One Life [Brian]
Too Much Love Will Kill You [Brian's version]
Who Wants To Live Forever
These Are The Days of our Lives
Any suggestions on which of these I could use. Every suggestion is very much appreciated.

I think you should have WWTLF. I think it will sound a little "funeral" in the show.
But all others you wrote down are good for that, exept Save Me. I think that song wouldn't be that good for this show.

Just posted 'Dear Friends' in the best song lyrically thread. This would be perfect, It's short, very simple with just a piano accompaniment, and the lyrics are a very personal goodbye to a loved one.
'So dear friends, a love is gone.
Only tears to dwell upon.
I dare not say as the wind must blow,
so a love is lost, a love is won.
Go to sleep and dream again.
Soon your hopes will rise and then,
from all this gloom life may start anew,
and the'll be no crying soon'.
Beautiful.

Right, I pick Who Wants.
Me too - if the audience don't recognise the song you use as a Queen song I think some of the others might sound too cheerful and rocking, you know how if you don't know a song you don't really hear the words? At least WWTLF has that slightly mystical and morbid feel about it.
Another good Queen-related song might just be Dream of Thee...It has kind of a longing for a lost one theme to it, but I agree that the ones you mentioned are better for this....
yup, wwtlf,
also these are the days of our lives,
dear friends

I don't know, personally I like tmlwky
I think Who Wants To Live Forever or These Are The Days Of Our Lives would work best.
These are the Days of our lives is my 1st pick with Who Wants to Live Forever running a close second
Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately, I don't have the Dear Friends song. What's the song like, musically and vocally? I need something that brings that emotional atmosphere. What album is it from?
It's on Sheer Heart Attack, very simple song, just the piano and voices
who wants
or no one but u (unless the dead person was/is an old man/woman... :S)

Definatelty Who Wants To Live Forever, get a band to accompany, you'll have em crying... Infact, Forever on its own is powerful enough...
I also think Who Wants To Live Forever is the best for this.
