I went to see Metallica 2 years ago and I remember watching this skinny teen dude going inside a moshpit with a bunch of muscular huge guys who could easily fit the profile of an ex-convict.
Needless to say he got his ass kicked really bad, but the more he got hurt the more he felt like going back inside the mosh-pit.
Frankly I don't understand what's the fun of getting your ass kicked in a mosh-pit. I'm gonna have to agree with Jansen by saying that going to concerts like No Doubt and jumping up and down without being pushed around is the best way to enjoy a concert.

You cutted...you...cutted...no. No excuse for that.
By my judgement mosh pits don't make sense to me. If I wanted to be hit in the face and have other peoples sweat on me I'd have a hooker run on a treadmill for two hours and have her smash me with a crowbar.

I went to see White Zombie in 1995. That was superb. All the fans used to run around in a big circle. I was right at the front and got a plectrum off Sean Yseult. Sexy Bitch.
Why are moshpits considered cool? Waste of time in my opinion. Headbangings alright though, especially to Def Leppard who were the masters.
Shut up! you and Def Leppard!
:P
And I cutted Rick Allen's arm!!
And what is wrong with the best band ever? And Rick might have only one arm but is still more than a match for most drummers - even Roger.
:P
Best band ever? Even better than Queen?
I have to admit that Pyromania, Hysteria, and Adrenalize were superb albums. But Def Lep hasn't showed a lot of impressive stuff ever since. Euphoria and X were acceptable in their own terms.

"I'm a headbanger and when i break my head i'll bang my girl instead" (lyrics from Not the nine o clock news 1979).
Now seriously. Who here likes Iron Maiden. They have an amazing guitarist.

Maiden are (were) great, as were Leppard, but better than Queen? No way.
I have a great year of gigs lined up so far;
Jan - Circus Of Horrors
Feb - Gary Mullens & The Works
Mar - Thunder, Judas Priest supported by The Scorpians
Apr - Magnum
May - Queen+ Paul Rogers
Nov - Alice Cooper supported by Twisted Sister
All I have to do now is get the other 6 months sorted. December will probably be SAS Band and I know that Fish is touring in April / May so I'll try to get along and see him.

Professional head banger here !
Good Charlotte. Mosh pit ? Behave ! 12-15 year olds getting sweaty and spreading juvenile funguses.
The best pit I have ever seen was at a Chimera gig. The lead singer is nick named Moses. Why I hear you ask? Well he divides the arena up into 2 halves with say a 20 ft clear path running right through the centre. They then play their heaviest track then instructs each half to run into the other.! It was like a scene from Braveheart I tell ya. Bodies everywhere !! :)
Much soreness after Pantera at the Marquee too. (Rest in peace Diamond)
Even an iffy neck on the Sunday of the Convention. ;) Must be getting old !

I saw Motorhead at the Ipswich Gaumont in 1980 on the Ace Of Spades tour. Fantastic gig, but Couldn't hear a thing for three days afterwards. Does that mean I qualify ?
