I'm a loner band geek.
Cause I'm not actually in the school band. I take private piano lessons.
I'm hoping that when I get to high school, they need a pianist in the orchestra. I doubt it though.

Choir and band geeks in my school get along quite well. It also helps that some band geeks are in choir. In fact, every year for my choir's spring concert, we join forces on the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's 'Messiah.' Good times!
Ooooh, we do the Hallelujah chorus every year for the winter concert! I should suggest that we join forces with the band...

I live in such a small town. There are no band geeks .... sort of. We're just a group of friends.
I think it's cool to be a band geek. Other kids here are computer nerds and that's much worse!

I was a total choir geek in college. We hated those band geeks. . . the bastards!! We were so much cooler singing the mozart and the handel. . .
Whoa whoa just because we're big nerds doesn't mean ya gotta go on the defensive. Most of my friends are in chorus too. I'm not I can't sing worth a pile of dung but oh well.
Yeah!! I'm not alone anymore!!! Actually I have a lot of friends that are band geeks as well. And we all hang in the band room constantly heck people even associate us with the band room now. we're so pathetic. but we're happy. :P
You are NOT a geek!! I think anyone that has the talent to play a musical instrument muchless, make awesome formations while playing a musical instrument is nothing BUT talented....to say the least. Wow that was a huge run on sentence. Oh well...it needed to be said without pause.
so kudos to you. I wish I had as much talent as you do. I can barely walk a straight line!!! Be proud!!!!!!

OH believe me I AM!!! But I didn't mean "geek" in a bad, negative way. It just means that we are EXTREMELY proud to be in band and wouldn't have it any other way! :D
Hm...not a band geek exactly, and I don't play skinflute...
But I am a complete orchdork, and I play viola. Does that count, kinda?

My son is a senior in high school and he has proudly played the tenor sax in the marching band since 9th grade, and in woodwind ensemble in the winter months. Next month his band is marching at Disney in Florida.

Thats awesome. I'm a freshman in High School now and our band is going to Disney next Spring. 'Twill be most excellent.

Jazz Band- I played bass for awhile but I quit 'cause I can't read bass clef music for my bass I only know tabs but I can play bass clef on piano.

I play percussion in a marching band, or some kind of band. You know, both brass and woodwind instruments ;)
But I think I can't get into any band with my main instrument ;) There aren't many bands with a piano!

I was in one when I was between the ages 10-12.
I played Trumpet and Baritone.
Very enjoyable, but looking back, the music we had to play was very unusual.
I still remember the fingerings on the trumpet but havent played since then.
