I hate it when people become sterotypical and say Party is a song you 'Forget about quick'..... seems like everyone uses the phrase for that particular song. Very rediculous. Everyone repeats saying that.
Same with Headlong..... they always say "a typical Brian May rocker"..... when mentioning that song, and everyone repeats it.

lou, I'm also from the USA. NEw york baby!...If you want a band that does the same thing for every album you should switch bands, I believe ACDC has done the same song for over 30 years now. Long live innuendo!
In NYC on certain stations, they actually do play a lot of Hot Space stuff. (Usually stations with pop.... 1980s, 1990s, thru today)...
To Mike,
Thank you for your comments. I can see that you are an ardent Queen fan. You don’t need me or anybody else for that matter to give Queen fans in Europe a bad name. You guys do that quite well on your own. My opinion is just that. My opinion. It just happens to reflect most of the Queen fans here in the USA. Nobody here even acknowledges anything they did after “The Game” except for “Under pressure”. To add insult to injury, Queen totally ignored all it’s fans in the USA. That speaks volumes. In every interview Queen gave concerning that matter they simply gave a flipped answer “We were too busy elsewhere” or “We simply don’t care”
Queen could have been bigger than “The Beatles” or “Led Zeppelin” but unlike those bands instead of taking in different styles or technology and making it their own, Queen simply settled to sound like any other lightweight techno pop band of that era. As I have said before. Take Freddie’s voice off most of their songs from any of their releases from “Hot Space” on and you could tell them apart from the rest any of those crappy bands that over used the synthesizer to death or didn’t realize disco had died years before. What did they need Brian anymore for? He should quit or they should have fired him. It was obvious the other three “lost” their rock n’ roll feel”. To paraphrase Freddie.
I wasn’t expecting them to simply redo “Bo rap” or Somebody to love” over and over, that would be crappy too. Ultimately though they just kept repeating “ Another one bites the dust” and “Body language”.

Lack of Promotion in the US. And Queen lost it's teen audience in the 80s. More adults concentrated on Queen.. thus you see a lot of old Queen interviews on ET.
I like the Miracle a lot and Freddie in particular was very fond of it-his vocals were on fine form throughout. All these eighties Queen albums are more biased towards pop rather than targeting the more Rock based USA market but Queen were NOT as much a commercial band as much as many-they wanted to produce different styles of music.I am sure Brian would loved to have done an AC/DC album but Freddie would not have had it!!Any album is a balance of egos-and four very strong ones!!It is one reason why Queen fell out with capitol in the states but it still went Gold there and sold over 600,000 copies-not exactly a flop is it.A shame they never went back there-if the Miracle went top ten or so It is highly likely they might have done something if Freddie's health was up to it but Queen only toured in the Eighties to thank the fans for buying the music by 1989 it was a bit late for Freddie to undertake-The Miracle was actually contracted to be released in 1988.Still.Great album for me!
The Miracle is a pretty good album. I like seven or eight tracks off of it. I'm twenty-seven years old and prefer Queen's 70's music though.
I like Innuendo and Made In Heaven very much too, but nothing sounds better then music that doesn't use Synths (70's)
I recently added all my Queen albums to my spaces on msn, and I ranked The Miracle as a 4. That's just my personal, subjective opinion though :)

great album, again if you don't like it don't listen to it, every song has it's point, it's heart and you've got to get there and then you find the song great.

I have a review of The Miracle in the Record Mirror May 1989-Queen are. quite probably, the best band in the world, ever! They have kept abreast of musical trends by constantly changing their style and coupling Freddie mercury's varied, and absolutely marvelous, vocal range with fine musicianship. It then goes on to describe each track and praises it ending with a solid 5/5-The only album to do so.Wow.what happened? Just stumbled across one for A Kind Of Magic-Like cadburys dairy milk chocolate,Queen will always endure and praises it with another 5/5 -perhaps the British press is not so clueless after all?
The Miracle has always puzzled me. I think it's Queen's most inconsistent album.
It has some of their best work of the 80's ( I Want It All, Was It All Worth It) but it also has some of the worst songs they ever recorded (Rain Must Fall, My Baby Does Me). Well, at least in my opinion.
The guitar-work on the album is magnificent. I especially like Brian's work on Khashoggi's Ship, the last part of Hang On In There and The Miracle and boy, what a solo on I Want It All.
Freddie is brilliant as always, and Roger and John really impress on some of the songs.
This is how I rate the songs:
Party 7/10
Khashoggi's Ship 9/10
The Miracle 8/10
I Want It All 10/10
The Invisible Man 6/10
Breakthru 9/10
Rain Must Fall 1/10
Scandal 9/10
My Baby Does Me 1/10
Was It All Worth It 10/10
Hang On In There 8/10 (last part 10/10)
Chinese Torture 8/10
Invisble Man 12' 6/10
Well, that's my two cents.

I feel The Miracle album is the worst of the 80s and rivals Flash Gordon for the worst album, period...
The main problem with it for me is that it is too "pop"...
Party, Khashoggi's Ship, Invisible Man, Rain Must Fall and My Baby Does Me smother the remaining songs and unfortunately stand out like a sore thumb. My Baby Does Me, in particular is a throwback to Cool Cat on Hot Space....
The Miracle is Freddie's best offering here and is a very inspirational track. Best song on the album is I Want It All, although I do prefer the single version....

11 out of 10!!!
For me, it's an exceptional album!!!
I don't see the reason for your disputes. It's just a matter of taste.
