Sounds like a drunken Green Day to me...
I didn't listen to it, but I am sure it is Green Day because I read an article about them and they mentioned that they had included "We Are the Champions" in their set list.
I am not surprised, because I also read that they were highly influenced by Queen when creating "American Idiot."

Is this really Green Day?
The intro sounded quite akward, but it eventually got better in the end.

I don't fancy this version as much as their cover of The Clash's 'I Fought The Law', which I downloaded from Itunes and it sounds superb.
I think it sounds great!! Would you all be mad at me if I said it sounds better than Paul Rodgers???
;) hahhhahhahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Melissa you're mad :P:P:P
In the Feb 24 issue of Rolling Stone, Matt Hendrickson, author of the Green Day article, comments on their Brixton Academy concert...
"an hour later, Green Day encore with an utterly sincere cover of Queen's 'We Are the Champions.' The entire crowd sings along......
Also, of small note, is that lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, for the new album, wanted to write the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' of the future.
'American Idiot' isn't that...but it's pretty damn good stuff.

This MP3 rocks!
"And I'm Rick James, Bitch!..." Well.... thank you Billie Joe...? Thank God I didn't lose my respect for these guys!
I've got a bootleg of theirs from January where they do that song. It's actually pretty faithful if you ask me.
I've been looking for this for a few months -- but the link won't work. :(
