And once again Brian May proves that he is completely unable to handle critique and instead tries to act as if Elton didn't really mean what he said. Why should he not be serious? WWRY may have something good in it (maybe... I haven't seen it - "not in a million years" is also my attitude), but it is blindingly obvious that it is totally, absolutely 100% UNCREATIVE, like Elton said, and I really don't get how it is possible to say it's not.

I just think that we don't have to pay so much attention to what Elton or someone like Nikki Sixx have said about Queen. What does it change? Nothing for me!
Nikki Sixx has always been respectful to Queen - he IS a Queen fan. Nikki also considers Brian as one of his idols - I don't think that Nikki's nice remarks about Brian should be compared to Elton John's crappy remarks about Queen.
So what? What does it change for me? If Nikki loves Queen that doesn't mean I have to love Queen more, because Nikki loves it!
I don't care if he respects or hates Queen, I don't care about Elton's opinion neither. I've got my own opinion and it's enough for me.
The thing that gets me about Elton's remarks is that he has'nt even been to see the musical, so how can he have an opinion on something he's never seen.

Here I will sum this whole thing up and no I haven't read what he said about Queen, but as a loyal Queen fan I say FUCK THAT stupid motherfucker and the horse he rode in on. Freddie was right to keep his distance from this backstabbing bastard in his last years. I wonder how Elton John would feel if any of his rock star friends told the press that "Peachtree Road" sucked. They have as many reasons, and perhaps even more than Elton did when he decided to blast their work.

Absolutely right! Elton is good when he sings with Queen on the FM tribute, on Bejart's ballet, when he attended Freddie's funeral, when Fred made a guest appearance on his concert and then suddenly he became an old fool just because he doesn't like musical... I'm curious what would happened if John Deacon would criticize musical - would some of Queen fans call him an old bald stupid fool or not?!
The whole problem with this "story"... did Elton indeed say this? We all know how reliable certain newspapers/magazines are. If Elton indeed said this, I would not take it too seriously. He did not attend the musical so far, how can someone have an opinion on something he/she never experienced him/herself?

I like Elton and I think he's talented, but he just needed to phrase his dislike for the musical more tactfully. If he hates it, fine, but there's got to be a better way to go about expressing that than to publically cut down your colleagues (and friends).
