RE: QUEEN on PBS as a Membership Pledge Drive
Dear Hollywood Records Friends:
Nine months ago, at the ripe old/young age of 60, yes, 60, I “discovered” Queen -- Freddie Mercury and the rest. I saw a Viagra ad on tv, and in the background was playing “We Are The Champions.” I thought, “Who sings that anyway?” I put the title on the net and up came about 35,000 references!
From there I ordered some dvds from NetFlix, and now I am a fan(atic).
I love Queen.
Thanks to eBay and other sites, I now own about 16 books, 9 dvds, 8 vhss, 14 cds, 1 refrigerator magnet, and my most prized Queen possession - a 4x3 foot banner hanging on my hall wall. I am smitten!
My family and friends think I have gone ‘round the bend as I am talking about Freddie all of the time.
On PBS recently there was a Tina Turner Membership Pledge Drive. I think it would be fantastic to have a Queen Membership Pledge Drive on PBS. It would please Queen fans tremendously and just might create a whole new fan base for Queen music and increase your sales.
I have written to PBS with my request, and I am hoping you and they can get together on this idea. I have also posted this idea on Queenzone.com ‘s website under “talk” “forum“ “Queenzone.com Comments, Feedback, Report odd things” to encourage other Queen fans to contact their local public television stations.
