Bootlegs and pirate copies are different things.
Buy a bootleg, the band don't lose a sale.
Buy a pirate copy/download material without paying, the band lose sales.
ANd would any of you apologists like to explain to me the justification for a thread called "DOWNLOAD: Extra Magical Ingredients"?

Or alternatively...
Buy a bootleg, and pay the thieves for stealing other people's material.
Download for free from the internet, and don't pay the thieves for something they don't own!
Personally, out of those two choices I think buying bootlegs is the worse option. :/
