Hey-- US fan here--- i have 2 say i have major issues w/ the setlist. if they dont want people to thing theyre trying to rehash the past in a poorer fashion, etc etc they should have a NEW setlist. the songs which queen never did w/ freddie n stuff. like INNUENDO. paul would do great on that. and what about all the great songs brian and roger wrote and sang but they never did live-- thats the type of stuff they should be doing now-- not just trying to relive the magic tour. i absoutly would not want to hear them to rock you/champions and absoutley no Bo Rhap- i dont care if its the #1 single.

I'd like a set list from the first 5 albums only but I'm not going to get it, just like you won't get your fantasy setlist either ... unless they do a series of themed gigs, different era each night.
The band are there to make an impression - the impression is of a popular famous band so it will be mainly the popular famous tracks that will be played.
If there is a next time then there will be more options to play other stuff.
There are that many songs that no one will ever be happy. There are 4 of us going to the Sheffield gig - I said I'd like to hear some more 'obscure' tracks (i.e not singles) but the rest are only going for the singles as that is about all they know - they don't realise Greatest Hits does not mean greatest songs. (anybody want to buy their tickets off me :-) )
It's down to bums on seats - or the music business where the business comes first.

I have a feeling we will get more of the 70's songs if they tour the states in the fall.
They will have more time to practice and the 70's is when Queen and Bad Co. were at their peak in the U.S.

well .. the 'wise american' is kinda right. It's not a precise rehash of '86 .. but this setlist isn't new either.
Since their last tour they did 3 studio albums, and on this tour they do only 3 song from these 3 albums .. that's kinda weird..
And besides that; the order of the songs is a bit stupid; there's not any of these awh-effects what Brian was talking about in the interview about the '86 tour .. well maybe TYMD as the intro. But there isn't a second awh-effect (most of the times it was BR & Now I'm Here..before the accoustic part) and there isn't a real build-up to the climax (Bo.Rap.)

Well, it is correct that since last tour they had 3 new albums (and one single). But it is also correct that this tour doesn't follow release of the new album (as usually tours are), but it is rather a tour which may be the last one. I said maybe. So, what they would play would be a little bit of everything from the catalog. It should not be only chart singles, but also something for fans. And so you have it. You chart singles, then for hard core fans there are '39 and Roger on IiLWMC and so on. So, it is perfect mix to please everyone. With catalog like the one they have this is not easy. Plus there must be room for PR stuff too which perfectly fine as this is not Queen tour but rather Queen+PR.
The point that is being missed is that some of the Queen catalogue is so technically and musically correct they would have to be adapted to be played live.
Brian has said in an interview that a lot of the later material was impossibe to re-create with their four + Spike line-up.
The one I can't believe is missing is Breakthru, that is fantastic done live.
We'll have to see what confidence brings forth in the next few weeks.

I hope they don't stick with the same setlist for the whole tour.
This is a good setlist, but why should every show be the same.
I think they've rehearsed more songs than the ones they've played so far, so why not replace a couple of songs as the tour progresses.
I hope by the end of the tour they will have played songs like Innuendo, Breakthru and so on.
Playing the same songs night after night must get a bit boring I think, not only for them but also for the fans who attend multiple shows.

I heard Ga Ga (a tribute band in the UK do it), and I have to say it was superb. And should be in the setlist of Q+PR
PS This isn't another Dork saying it, I have been a Queen fan since 73, and have seen them every tour. And I'm also a musician.

Eh, too many PR songs. I thought it'd be two, maybe three MAX. This is a Queen tour.
As for the Quuen songs, I'd lose IWTBF, A Kind Of Magic, and Hammer To Fall, and put in either Now I'm Here, Sleeping On The Sidewalk, or It's Late. THESE are the songs that PR could make a killing on. The other three are too 'Magic Tour' for me.
