No - I can 100% confirm that this is NOT a hoax...I'm the one getting the thing ready to launch.
It just is a coincidence that April 1 is the day that people associate with Fools.

Well - (I guess you could call this a 'Dear John' Letter...
I guess I'm no different than any other fan out there. I just decided to make a site for Smile. No special reason really other than to show the band's importance in the history of Queen.
That's it really. I've been dubbed an 'Expert' by some within the Queen circles, but really have nowhere near an extensive a collection as some people out there...I'm just a fan who decided to make a website about the band.
...For what it's worth - that's it.
