Why do people hate "The Hitman". I think it was one of Queen best songs on the album, and Brian's guitar solo towards the end of the song is one of the best i've heard.

Yeah totally agree with you a wicked heavy song with blistering work from brian and all round band performance,pity they couldn't have played it on stage.
I don't hate "The hitman" - I just think that it totally doesn't fit right with the rest of the "Innuendo" album.
I don't hate the Hitman... I love that song.
It has been speculated by some of Freddie's best friends that "The Hitman" is AIDS itself.
As we all know, The Hitman is Freddie's song, and Brian says its Freddie's down to the guitar riff. (Which was composed on piano according to sources)..
I am not one to think that everything Freddie did from 1986-1991 has hidden AIDS meaning, but I think the "Hitman" may be one of those things that does.
And it would be in Freddie's style... as his attitude during the song was kind of happy, arrogant, and...yeah, you're here (his disease) and SO WHAT??
I was at a party one time, and Innuendo cd was on, and a girl was standing by the cd player... when "Hitman" came on, she went back to track 3, which is Headlong.
I said..."Hey, I like Hitman".
She said.. "I do too, but I am too emotional today to hear Freddie sing about coping with Aids".
I didn't press the issue, but I thought...hmmm.. Weird that she should say that too.
