I don't know why but you can often read that it was John's (in fact you can find such an information in the Mojo special as well:)). Might be obvious to some, but for years the Alt.music.queen FAQ listed it as a John song.
To my ears, Don't Try So Hard could have been John's. The rather awkward lyrics always made me assume it was him.
and innuendo (title track) was also freddie's, not roger,smeaning the old info is wrong.
I never gave it any thought because I just assumed it was Freddie's...
