My Boy is originally from this site below. For those who haven't seen this list, there is a lot of amazing stuff in here!

I heard the song was recorded during the Hot Space sessions in '82, but don't completely quote me on that!

I remember that Brian May put it on a CD in tribute to his good friend Cozy Powell in 1999 I think. It was called "Business : Rock On Cozy Mix" if I am right.

I do not know if it is an official release. Maybe as it had a special enhanced message at the end of the CD from Brian. I guess it talked about Cozy. Anyway, it had 7 songs I think including a mix of "Business", "F.B.I" and "My Boy".

I remember that but I may be wrong. I know it exists and I know I ain't wrong with the tracks but I do not know if it's a bootleg or if it's an official release.

But it's the first time I hear it's from 1982 (the song) because I always thought it was a new Brian May song put on that special album in 1998 or 1999.

No, definately not on the Business single. It came from a charity compilation called 'Lullabies With A Difference'.

No, it's never been on a single, but a "tribute" album to Cozy. I remember that. "FBI", "Business", "My Boy", "Enhanced Message From Brian May", "Maybe Baby" (Buddy Holly Cover) and maybe something else but it was really short. 6 or 7 songs I think.

If you can't find it, maybe it's out of stock or just a bootleg. I think it's pretty rare, but what do I know huh ? I know it exists but I don't know anything else.

Anyway, doesn't matter much...we got the song and I love "Maybe Baby" too.

The only album it's ever been on was "Lullabies With A Difference", which somebody already mentioned. It hasn't made any other appearance.

Would've been a nice ending for "Hot Space" though.

Well, you're maybe right but anyway, I don't care all that much. "My Boy" isn't among his best in my opinion. :P

Yes, I took notice of that and I admit my mistake but still, "My Boy" is not great at all. It's not like the "Hot Space" sessions but should have been released there. "Las Lalabras De Amor" isn't like the rest of the album and has been released on that record. "Let Me Live" could have been relased on "The Works" if I am right too. Anyway...

The CD I talked about exists, the songs are all right except for that one "My Boy". Sorry ! :P

At first, I thought it was a cover of the Elvis Presley song but I was wrong. Brian likes Elvis a little bit so I thought it was indeed, that song.

I should listen to "My Boy" again. Was it written for Jimmy ? It must have been...

PS : My name's Dany, not Danny. :P

Sorry for mistyping your name, Dany :)

I don't think My Boy was written by Brian, so it would not be for Jimmy. These are just groundless assumptions, though :)

Cheers,
