Admiral James Stockdale

He was in a POW camp for 7 1/2 years, and he refused to take part in propaganda broadcasts, to the point where when they planned to film one of them he bashed himself in the face with a stool to disfigure himself. Then to prove that he was not afraid to die for his fellow prisoners he slit his wrists with a shard of glass... This convinced the North Vietnamese to lay off the POWs in the Hanoi Hilton. This is also what Stockdale got the Medal of Honor for. He was also a Naval Academy graduate! And earned four Silver Stars.

I'm sure people will give me some real shit for this one but oh well. President George W. Bush, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Axl Rose, Ronald Reagen, Rush Limbaugh, Jim Tressel, Woody Hayes, Ican't think of any others at the moment. Now all I ask is that you respect mine like I respect yours please, that's with all sincerity.

I see some replies questioning your respect towards Bush, but that's not the one I have a problem with. In fact Bush seems quite a respectable person compared to this guy...

My problem is with Rush Limbaugh who happens to be a shameless homphobic racist who does nothing but spread lies, rumors, and exaggerated comments about anyone he hates. Not to mention that he's a complete hypocrite who has claimed that anyone who uses drugs should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and be sent to Holland or any country where drugs are legal, and yet Rush Limbaugh himself is addicted to prescription drugs and was involved in a case where he was found to be buying prescription drugs illegally.

In a few words, Rush Limbaugh hates anyone who is not white, conservative, christian, republican, or straight.

Perhaps you should put Hitler on your list.

Don't forget anyone who dislikes his tie collection ;)

Yeah, I may be conservative but I can't stand Rush. He's just a blowhard.

i think i will add to my list...

lance armstrong--for what hes endured and how he overcame, great over all story.

and why i didnt say this before..anne frank

i visited her hiding area in amstradam last month and i can honestly say, that her story was one that was both sad and full of courage.
they say that in order to understands ones struggle, one needs to walk in their steps.
well, i didnt walk in her steps, but i walked where she stepped, and i can honestly say that the situation that she and the others indured would be one that would break most peoples spirits.
i say, may we always remember heros like her and the others who hid, and may we never get the oppertunity to ever have to look for this type of hero again.
