This (the drawing) just got approved by Richard, so I thought I'd share a little story behind this drawing:

(Note: it's a slightly big file, so it may take some time to load)

I got this drawing made at the AnimeThon Convention back in late summer 2003, here in Edmonton. What happened to get this done was I bought some tickets there which could only be used as credit with any of the anime(-style) artists who were there to draw pictures of anything people wanted.

So I thought this would be a treat.

I specifically asked the girl who drew me, to draw me wearing a Japanese kimono. She asked me if I wanted to be smiling in the picture, so I said yes.

I had the option of getting the drawing coloured in, but I decided not to, cos I thought it looked cool in b&w.

Overall, I was pleased with the drawing.

I will be attending AnimeThon again this August. I couldn't attend last year's convention because I was away in Ontario on vacation when it happened.
A big difference is that I will have a really good amount of money to spend, as opposed to the time in 2003, when I decided to go just for fun, not having much money to spend in the market room (I only had about $20 - this year I'm planning on bringing $300 for spending money, which is enough for me hopefully). I only ever got 2 CD-singles, a poster and stickers when I went last time. This time I want to buy CD albums, DVD's, and more posters (and whatever oddities catch my eye :-)

Anyways, what do you guys think of the drawing? Does it resemble me in any way in your opinions?
Let me know.

ED: Also, forgot to mention, as I didn't realize this up until now: the drawing is slightly chibi (mini)-style, as it's not exactly drawn to make me look big.

I think the anime drawing is cute in some ways, which is strange for me to say.

And that Queen drawing...that was the 2nd time that year I had drawn it...the first one was lost.
This was the last good drawing I ever made, as I've since lost my artistic passion for drawing. I tend to criticize myself too easily, that's why

Thanks flash00!

At least I'm glad that my recent contributions of my own works to this site are receiving great comments. Certainly makes me very happy.

And I'll need a lot of happiness, because this guy's becoming older on Friday The 15th (yeah, I know - SCARY isn't it? :P ) - I turn 19

Oh!

And you know what? When I go to AnimeThon this August, I'm going to see to it that I have a newer and more improved drawing, or drawings, of me made! Hopefully this time with colour!

I'm thinking of even having one of the artists draw me with Brian and Roger (Queen 1/2), in an anime rock style too!

We'll see when the time comes!

Oh how I am excited! Glee! :)
