I never did understand why he had 2 or 3 more basses behind him when he was playin live, ive only seen him use his Fender precision live, so the basses in stands behind him never got used................. or did they???

Hmm, good question. Sometimes he would I suppose. But in the early tours he used his Fender on all the songs just like Brian with the Red Special.

in 1986 he used the Precision most of the time. And he had 3 basses for backup. Musicman stingray, Fender Elite and another model of the Precision.
