The single most ill-conceived and annoying misconception is that John Deacon wasn't a necessary or valuable member of the group. I get so pissed off every time someone tries to underestimate his contributions. Anyway....

This woman my mum knows REALLY annoys me. When I'm watching a Queen video she always says something like 'Oh, don't you think he looked so much better after he had his teeth done?'
Grrrr. I say 'well actually, he never had them "done".' But when she was looking in a magazine I had a few days ago she said something along the same lines. But as she is obviously convinced he had his teeth fixed at some point, I don't bother to argue with her any more.

Oh and another thing. Don't you just hate it when somebody mentions a Queen song, and you say "Oh! Queen wrote that eh?", and they say "Really? I didn't know that!"

It appears Queen don't get any credit for all those great songs that people know and love but don't realise who wrote them...

There are so many annoying misconceptions, but one that really gets me is when people think that Freddie wrote "Who Wants to live forever" when he found out he had AIDS

Dammit. That song's about the mighty Christoph Lambere

it is my belief that freddie was bisexual. but you see a lot of bisexual people have a leaning towards one sex. i myself am more inclined to be attracted to women rather than men. i think freddie was bisexual but preffered men. i saw this programme on freddie's lovers on channel five (english television), was it that programme i don't remember, and i seem to recall that he had a short relationship with a woman in the early-mid eighties. maybe i've got my facts wrong, but yeah. i know that he did have a relationship with her AFTER breaking uop with mary.

anyway, the actual; question. i find it most annoying when people say that thety don't like queen when they haven't heard the music, just because supposedly it is c**p or worse "old". i can't stand that. there is someone i know that says they don't like queen but haven't listened to the songs so doesn't know. i put on the greatest hits CD without her knowing. obviously, bo rhap came on first, and she recognised that one. i told her it was a mix CD. then AOBTD came on and she's like, "what's this? this is good". haha! it's queen! anyway...that's my rant.

oh wait, the obvious ones as well, like freddie was queen, and the spelling of freddie with a Y.
i'm not wierd i'm gifted

That people think that the song Sheer Heart Attack is on the Sheer Heart Attack-album. That BohRap is on the Queen II-album (because of its cover) and that Bicycle Race is on A Day At The Races-album.

The fact that someone who is not a major fan would even know of such a song would be surprising, nevermind if they thought it was on the album of the same name. More annoying is when someone says that Queen jumped on the punk bandwagon with the song. Although, Roger may have re-worked it as a reaction? Anyone know more detail on that?

that Queen consisted of Freddie Mercury...

Or that Queen was sort of Freddie's stage name, much as many people still refer to Debbie Harry as 'Blondie'.

'Oh, Blondie! I love her!'

'Oh, Pink Floyd! He's terrific!'

'Oh, I love that Steely Dan guy! He's great!'
Blow it out your ass.
