No offense to anyone, but I think some people are nit-picking here...After 19 years Queen (or whatever you choose to call them) is back, they're giving some damn good concerts, and people are complaining about hearing the "old standards"? You have to remember, they're 20 years older now, and I doubt even Freddie would begin a show with the fast version of WWRY now, considering he'd be almost 60. I WANT the classics...I've never heard them live before. And even though I love dozens of the less well-known songs, there's no way you'll ever find me complaining about hearing "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "TYMD" live. And those of you who HAVE seen Queen before, some of you 25 times or more, this is still your first opportunity in almost two decades to see some of this material performed live. It's just great that they're doing this.

AMEN to that. only if I see 6 or 7 gigs- I would like them to differ just a bit, you know. One or two odd songs.. Just like Pesaro got their Long Away...
Fenderek,
Sure, I can definitely understand that...If you go to several shows, it would be nice to see an odd song change/surprise now and again.

How many times did they change the setlist during a tour when Freddie was alive.
RIGHT! Rarely!
On the Magic tour there is hardly any change at all, they played Immigrant Song in Germany, and something that was supposed to be Gimme some Loving a few times and thats it.
on this tour Brian threw in Long Away, they added Say it's not True and dropped Seagull. Roger started singing Hammer to Fall with Brian. And the tour just had about 15 shows so far

Ye .. of course they are older and I really love that they play '39 and FBG and stuff .. but my point is; this setlist is the least interesting setlist because of the song-order (for example; FBG at the beginning? .. that's just a wonderfull build-up song for after the accoustic set) .. the accoustic set being too early in the setlist (normally it was always after they played Now I'm Here .. so half way the show) .. and the fact that Now I'm Here is missing, which was at the last couple of tours, a perfect song to let you know you where half way the concert and that soon Bri and Fred would start the accoustic set.
I don't really care if they play AOBTD, UP, Action This Day, Somebody to Love or A Kind of Magic .. hits or non hits .. as long
- it's in a logical order,
- the song will fit Paul's voice (that's the reason why I think from the 5 songs I summed up, AKOM is the only good song)
- The standard Queen songs are in there; TYMD, Bo.Rap. WWRY, WATC, LoML (okay .. so these are in there) AND A GOOD OPENINGS TRACK AND NOW I'M HERE!
Of course it's wonderfull Queen is back on the road again .. with a great frontman (who hasn't enough stage-time!!) .. but the setlist itself really dissappointed me, so I'm very curious if they'll do something about it for the summer-concerts....
they added Say it's not True and dropped Seagull. Roger started singing Hammer to Fall with Brian. And the tour just had about 15 shows so far
I think those are due to Paul's illnes, aren't they? Also Brian sometimes sings I Want It All... But IMO as soon as Paul's throat is 100% right- Seagull and Feel Like Making Love are gonna be back on the set. I hope so, anyway!
I agree with the need to mix it up. This is Q+PR not the old days. Play stuff that is out of the box. Please dump the guitar solo!!! We have heard the same one for 20 years. Throw in a few more songs. A few more Paul Rogers songs would be great.
Cheers

The order of the songs is also because Brian Roger and Paul aren't 30 anymore.
They have to think about their condition, so they have to give Paul a break, and Roger aswell from his drumming

Yep- hence the acoustic set earlier tahn usual...
But now the second part after the accoustic set is much harder for Roger, isn't it? :P
okay .. let's compaire the original Setlist (let's take Rome, because there was Paul's voice still strong enough) and change the order of songs, shall we?
01 Reachin Out
02 Tie Your Mother Down
03 Can't Get Enough Of Your Love
04 I Want To Break Free
05 Fat Bottomed Girls
06 Crazy Little Thing Called Love
07 Seagull
08 `39

Innuendo taped outro instead of Emenem
01 Tie Your Mother Down

03 Headlong (Paul!)
04 A Kind Of Magic

well .. I'm not wishing the impossible, am I? :P
Only Now I'm Here and Headlong .. the taped outro of Innuendo instead of Emenem, move AKOM to the beginning, and FBG to the end and drop Reachin Out and Last Horizon.. this makes much more sense and isn't muxh harder for the guys.

If they somehow get Innuendo, Breakthru or It's Late in the setlist I would be very happy...
Please dump the guitar solo!!! We have heard the same one for 20 years.
Yes please! And while you're at it, please take Last Horizon with you... Brian, it's not your solo tour!
I dunno- I thought about Reaching Out almost as an intro to TYMD- thta's the opening, that's when the curtain goes down. And IMO- it works bloody well. What I DO have an issue with is the f***king Eminem. Now that's a thing they should drop!
About MAGIC TOUR- I meant taht a setlist was exactly as stale as it is now. No changes whatsoever. And it wasn't that adventurous, was it... Not everything thay play now are Greatest hits as well, is it... 39, I'm In Love With My Car, Fat Bottomed Girls- they weren't playing them neither during Magic nor WORKS tour. I agree though that more logic in sequence would be welcome- it's NOT a perfect one...
I agree with you on the whole Eminem thing. Who the hell thought that up?
