Live Killers

Ok, Live Killers is my favorite live CD although it has all those overdubs..but Ive seen some close up pics of Queen in 79 during LK. Is there a video of LK or around 79 that I can get? Thanks.

Er, all of those were video'd?

Live Killers-concerts are concerts from the European Jazz-tour. So, the one's from 1978 are from the American Jazz-tour. They didn't play Don Stop Me Now yet. Hammersmith 1979 is not a Live Killers-concert, this is a concert from the Crazy-tour, which included two new songs: Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Save Me.

Easy way to work this out is to go by the contents of the concert programme of the time and how the :

1 - North America tour (28.10.78 - 20.12.78)- The Jazz Tour

2 - European / Japanese tour (17.01.79 - 06.05.79) - Live Killers

3 - UK tour (22.11.79 - 26.12.79) - The Crazy Tour

Some boot videos have been circulated and so I bought one but I don't know where we can dowmload it...and mine has some difference compared with the album LK, I mean I think dates recorded are different...

Rotterdam is 24 minutes from a dutch programme. They show parts of the concert and parts of an interview/report with the band. Munich is also filmed by the german programme the Mucis Box and there are actual 7 songs from the concert itself included. it's total time 43 minutes, and there's a report, interview with band and the soundcheck for Fat Bottomend Girls included. Hammersmith completely filmed, only 19 songs till now on available as a bootleg. The first Paris night is 20 minutes proffesional filmed, second night should exict in teh archieves and the thirth night is an excellent audience recording from 60 minutes. Tokyo is also filmed by a tv-station and has 33 minutes filmed. Available on bootleg in excellent quality. Bristol is filmed by the BBC and it "only" contains Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Brussels is 14 minutes (correct me if I'm wrong).

Buffalo is a 3 minutes silent recording from We Will Rock You. And Lakeland are also just 5 minutes audience recording, and very rare. Munich '78 isn't from the jazz tour. It's from the News Of The World tour, it has 8 minutes containing Keep Yourself Alive and We Are The Champions. Very very amusing by the way.

I think even if just very short excerpts were actually used for TV programs later this doesn´t mean it´s the only part of these videos which exist. I guess if there was a professional film team at the show they almost always recorded the full show. It doesn´t really make sense to bring all the equipement there and then film for 15 min or so. Most of these videos are probably still in the archives of the TV stations.

I think typically film crews from news programs etc. are allowed only to film the first three songs of performances. Once they have their footage their escorted out by security. I saw this first hand at a Cheap Trick show. The photographer had permission but several songs into their set he went past his alloted time and was taken out.
