Freddie was just 1 quarter of Queen as so where Brian, Roger and John, so in fact with Brian, Roger holding 1 half of Queen yes they have every right to use the Queen name if they want.

Hello again BPP. I should only say, that I was on Prague gig (enjoyed every minute of it) and I listen to the bootlegs from this Queen+PR tour, and along with this I can always put CDs or DVDs with Queen and listen/see them too. No problem for me.

More to it, I'm satisfied with both of those. Strange? I think not. The only one strange here is you, with your endless whinning about "Queen" or "non Queen"... blah, blah, blah ... always the same, always very predictable.

It's pity, you can't easily (and happily) listen and enjoy good music without everlasting complaints. The life is full of trouble and you make it even worse for yourself.

Englishyob, I absolutely agree. How many times was it stressed over the years, by Freddie himself that he was a member of Queen, he was one quarter of Queen? The answer is many, many times. freddie never claimed to be Queen, he only claimed to be a member and thats what he was. I just think the other guys are the best in the world at what they do. Brian is the best guitarist ever, Roger the best drummer and John the best bassist (if only he would perform again it would be wonderful) so it really annoys me when people declare Freddie was Queen, as this suggests the other members had no input, no talent and that is so untrue. If you were a real Queen fan BPP you would get out there and support Queen on their tour.

If BPP knew me better he'd have never considered me not being a real Queen fan. This is so ridiculous!
Queen was my first record (LP), first cassette and first live concert I've seen at the age of twelve in 1980. Since then I've seen them on every tour, I've bought every album on LP and CD. I've bought all the Video2000 releases, VHS releases and DVDs I own box sets, collectibles, bootlegs, autographs and I've shot fotos from first row in Queen concerts. I've bought all there is in solo works and even won a fight for one of Roger's drumsticks. So don't you tell me I ain't no Queen fan.

I am a true Queen fan and thanks to Paul Rogers, I’ve seen Queen play live yes, I will admin I would have preferred to see Queen with Freddie but Paul Rogers did a good job to get up there on stage and sing with one of the greatest rock groups in the world.

So either just get over it or just get lost we don’t like you much on here anyway just read the forum. It was Queen that got me into music; it was Brian May who got me into playing guitar. If it wasn’t for Queen I’d probably be listening to so dead head dance crap, but no I’m rock n roll guy though and though.

I personally feel that Queen died in 1997, after "No-One But You" was released. Queen as an active band died in 1991 - and have been a fan since I was born in 1982. Each member was 25% of the band, and regardless of which member had died I'd feel the same way. I'm glad the legacy lives on and hope the music will never die away, but I didn't agree with the tour when it was announced and my view isn't going to change. Although unlike BPP, I prefer not to continously harp on about it and I respect the opinions of those of you who went to the shows.....

I respect your decision that you respect mine and many other people on here who are glad to see Queen on the road again with Paul Rogers. I just get pissed of with people like BPP who go around tell everyone who supports the QPR tour are just disrespectful to Freddie and we are not true Queen fans, its our chose if we support tour or not.

Backing musicians (as you are calling Jamie, Danny,Spike) are used by solo artists ie Clapton, Phil Collins. Elton John, Robbie Williams etc the list goes on. In this case as Brian and Roger in their wisdom have decided to use the name Queen it means Danny, Jamie, Spike have BECOME PART of the band. Only Paul Rodgers remains outside of the Queen remit hence Queen + Paul Rogers.

Spike edney toured with queen when freddie mercury was still alive. He was never a part of Queen. He was a backing musican nothing more. Many four piece or three piece bands bring extra musicans to round out the sound and to aid them on longer tours, especially when they get older. I dont think your patronising tone to people on this site is really very productive, especially when, and lets be honest you dont really seem to know all that much about the music industry.

I think everyone needs to relax. Music is to be enjoyed, and as far as ive seen many a person has enjoyed the 2005 tour. If people are enjoying it, the band are enjoying it then its worth doing. As for analysing everything, well I think people need to step back and realise that Brian and Roger are people who more than likely miss the feeling of touring and the live interaction. Im sure they feel once the pain of the death of freddie has faded a little in their minds that they should be able to take the name of queen and bring a little joy into peoples lives again.

Lets have a little less analysing and let people enjoy the music. I would say most of the people here love Freddie Mercury and arent in any way dishonouring his memory, but lifes goes on, and im sure a part of Freddie is with Roger and Brian. If you had turned up at any of the gigs you would have felt the magic.
