and why the fuck would THEY do that? - they have a vocalist - Paul rodgers - so they can just redo the vocals too!
why would they use Freddie's vocals when:-
1. Paul rodgers is A better singer than freddie could ever dream of being
2. Paul rodgers can rework the songs and make them better

...right. now that's put Brian's Permed Asshole in hospital with a heart attack, we can all get back to normal now ;-)

i just noticed how old that interview was, april of 2004. when i first posted i thought it was a newer interview, and no i don't think the songs would be great, mabe decent. who knows why they wern't on made in heaven, actually i think they were recently found, and brian and roger put down the instrumental parts, but who knows if this is true.

It could be that they didn't fit with the overall feel of the MIH album...despite the varied sources, the tracks on MIH felt nicely uniform in theme, etc.

In October 2004 when Jim was in Moscow he told me that there's no any other tracks with Freddie's vocal except songs which were released on MIH. Maybe he forgot about all these demos and unreleased stuff or maybe meant them also.

Jim knows nothing other than the financial side of the business - he couldn't give two shits about the music so long as whatever is released keeps the bank balance healthy.

At least he was wright about Milton Keynes DVD. I wonder why Brian never said this on his Soapbox. I guess John wouldn´t say no on puting the bass lines on this tracks, but who knows...

Take care

Wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the road, someone discovers some lost vocal tracks by Freddie thhough.

I read all the time about lost tracks being found ten, twenty years or more by famous artists, long after they pass on. Sometimes, it's stuff that was literally lost, misplaced, or noone but the artist who passed knew about it and stored it away somewhere...then it's found years later.

I find it hard to believe that with all the recording Freddie did, even just demoing and testing works in progress (for both Queen and for his solo work), that he may have missplaced, scrapped, or deemed unworthy, maybe never even showed to the rest of Queen, or anyone else, that there isn't more material out there with his vocal tracks or even piano tracks.

Sounds like good news. Only hope they aren't just demos with Freddie's voice in it, but complete more-or-less-efforts to sing a song. You know adding instruments to demos sometimes doesn't do the trick, and listeners easily feel that is an incomplete song.

Hope John will be adding bass or they will have to call themselves 'Queen + other bassist' ;)
