The Pentagon is a secret society, if something attacks it, it shuts down, denies all knowledge, and re-builds as quickly as possible. This is also a security measure. The Pentagon, to my knowledge, was the first rebuilt building after 9/11. Something hit it, but we may never know what. But, according to sources, is was a plane. I read in an intelligence magazine called Spy, and heard it again in a documentry about 9/11, that apparently the Pentagon was not the original target, it was White House. However, as the White House is surrounded by trees, the pilots flew the aircraft into the Pentagon. Hope this explains why there is no/or very very little footage of the plane/object hitting the building.
Actually, I think the airplane that ended up crashing in the fields, that one was actually supposed to target either Air Force One OR the White House, but didn't because the passengers bravely burst into the cockpit and crashed the plane into the field to prevent damage to those 'intended' targets, thus sacrificing their own lives in the process
