Fleetwood Mac all the way, THE Eagles were a 50's band as I recall. Now if this were between EAGLES (not THE) and Fleetwood Mac, I'd say Eagles.

Yes, I'm nitpicking. Get it right Goddamnit.

Wrong-

I am speaking of Don Henley, and Glen Frey's band...

I have my cd case of "The Eagles" greatest hits beside me.

It very much says "The Eagles"....

By the way... to nit pick that much.... get a hobby.

Did the Eagles ever release more songs than Hotel California? I can't seem to remember any... :/
But I do remember an entire album by Fleetwood Mac. So Fleetwood Mac has to be the "better" choice out of these two. :P

The Eagles. They are a great band and they changed from country rock to straight ahead rock over the course of six albums. No one Eagles album sounded alike.

The company behind the current active band formation is surprisingly enough "EAGLES LTD."
The official website is www.eaglesband.com

The first album is called "Eagles" by Eagles, not "The Eagles", but then again you've never heard of it I guess. And it damn well has no THE on any of the studio albums, which I do have in my record collection. With the exception of The Long Run, which I refuse to re-buy for a full price since it's rubbish.

All I'm saying is that the band name "The Eagles" was already used by the time founding member Bernie Leadon (Bernie who? :-P) thought of the name EAGLES for the band. And anyone with eyes and ownership of the bands products knows the bloody difference.

"THE Eagles" were a band which released the song "Tryin' To Get To You" in 1954 later re-recorded and made famous by Elvis Presley in 1955.

Get it right. I'll nitpick, it's so much fun. :-)
Oh and by the way, It's GLENN Frey, not Glen. ;-)

As far as "EAGLES" goes, the original lineup of Leadon, Meisner, Frey and Henley was Genius. Perfect harmony and blend of musicianship.
The blend of personalities obviously wasn't perfect, with Leadon abandoning ship after "One Of These Nights" and Meisner going solo in 1977.

The self-titled debut "Eagles" and second album "Desperado" are worthy of their critical acclaim.
Desperado was easily the bands musical peak (peak of commercial success does not equal quality... HC was dire)

Unfortunately the first two albums indeed are often overlooked by the casual listeners in favour of the greatest hits material which was more mainstream-rock/radio-friendly and not so much bluegrass/country-rock influenced.

Two seperate bands with two different styles.

How 'bout Eagle Mac or Mac Eagle or Eagle Fleetwood. Dunno?

A double bill show would be great.

BTW, take a gander into http://www.smartgroups.com

Fleetwood Mac for me! :D

The Eagles, hands down. I can't stand Stevie Nicks' voice for some reason.

For my two cents worth - I don't think they can really be compared because they have different styles of music. Personally, I like them both as both bands have some great music. And I would say they are both equally in their own right just as successful as the other.

I have to say though that I just LOVE Stevie Nicks outfits!!!!!
