This is an impossibility for me, as I love both bands so much - but let's see what you all think.
And please, no posts saying "screw prog", or "their songs are long and boring". Prog isn't about 4-minute pop; it's about musicality. Let's see some intelligent posts in this topic.

Both bands have good songs, and both bands have meandering nonsense that make you think "What kind of drugs were these fuckers on when they wrote this???"
They are both good, not great.

hm...
Hmmm indeed... Time to think over this one I think.
Off the top of my head I would say Yes probably just ahead, but I can't come up with a reason why! Although my mate who is a big Rush fan would probably hit me.
You should check out Mars Volta like I said Bob, a band daring enough to do prog rock in today's musical scene.

LMFAO!!!!! i prefer YES anyway.
Wow, difficult question. Rush is essentially a power trio, whereas Yes is more about ambience. It's very hard to answer, but I think I'll say that I prefer Yes by just a bit.
Rush... That just may be because I have not heard much of Yes
As above but reversed bands. I've not heard a lot of Rush.
Tough one - Rush
Yes

I have both albums, and I have to say they're a very interesting band! They just played in Toronto a couple nights ago, but unfortunately I had to work.

Get the Fragile and Close To The Edge albums. Those are the best two to start with, but I have to say that Going For The One is my favourite Yes album.
Having seen them live in concert, its Rush for me all the way. That not knocking Yes, btw...

You kept that quiet! Got to see them in Manchester, they were amazing live...
