Sometimes I scare myself! Lol!

This is another DVD-A dissection, similar in a way to my Play The Game remix. The bit in the middle of this, where it loops back to the guitar solo, was really hard to do! I spent 3 hours trying to mask the edit, but I think it was worth it - yes, it was a worthwhile experience, ha ha ha ha!!

If I told you, I'd have to kill you! Lol!

It's DVD Audio Extractor, here's the author's website:- http://www.castudio.org/dvdaudioextractor/

The beauty of it is, it rips the 6 channels into separate files, which gives you plenty to play with, but depending on the original mix, not all the channels are isolated. I'm going to have a pop at Save Me next, as I don't particularly like the DVD-A mix, then it might be time to rip ANATO to bits!

Lord Fickle, your not gonna believe this, but that is the actual program that I use!!! Looks like I'm doing something wrong. Maybe I should actually learn to use the thing first!!

Oh well, back to the drawing board for me.

Cheers,

There's a box you have to tick to enable it to rip the channels to separate files - maybe you missed that?

Tried that. All I get is silent files except for the bass channel. Any other ideas? Been practising with ANATO and The Game.

Umm, the only other thing I can think of is, are you ripping the DTS track, or the PCM track? Try ripping the DTS track, and make sure you select 41,000 as the bitrate, and all 6 channels, from the drop down boxes.

I had the same thing, only the bass sound. The others where empty, but I tried Play The game with other settings and that went pretty well, so I've done a few songs, but there is always a channel that has a very loud noise.

edit; I tried the same thing with "Death On Two Legs", but then the program gives this massage; "Can't read the selected audio stream" but with "Good Company" and "Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon" I have no problems.

I can't think of anything else to add - are you ripping as *.wav files? I haven't found a 'loud' channel in any of mine. Usually channel 4 is the bass channel, and channel 3 is the center channel. 1+2 are rear L+R, and 5+6 are front L+R, although those could be the other way round. In Sony Soundforge, all the separate channels open as mono, but when you combine 1+2, and 5+6, you get the stereo outputs. In Play The Game, channel 3 is the isolated Freddie vocal channel, so I played with that to create some effects, before mixing it back into the other channels.

Edit:- Not that I think it matters much, but what sample rate are you using? Here are my settings:-

Sample Rate:- 44100 Htz
Channels:- All 6 channels
Bits per sample:- 16 bits

Tick box to Save each channel into separate file.

My sample rating is 24-bits, it's channel 4 where I always have a very loud noise, the rest is fine

I'll have a try with ANATO when I next get time, probably after the weekend. Can't understand why there would be an issue with Death On Two Legs.
