I don't find it awful at all! Even though I don't like hip hop, (c)rap and stuff I find this highly enjoyable! It's taking Queen's music to new levels and may even gain them a new audience. Anyway, I think it's far better than any other attempt I know of combining Queen and contemporary popular music. Try it, it's definitely worth it (and much more interesting than "Queen" + Paul Rodgers - IMHO a missed opportunity)!

I thought the Night at the Hip-Hopera album was very distasteful. The Gay Bar song is totally inappropriate.
A Night at the Hip-Hopera is THE MASTERPIECE of mash ups. I've listened to it non-stop for months on end, and I don't even enjoy hip hop and rap that much. Awesome stuff. I need to check out the Flaming Lips mash up they did too...
I like the Hip-Hopera mash-up remixes, they're very well done. And they seem to have used the 2004 Japanese Karaoke remasters for the instrumental tracks, by the sounds of it.

So Roger and Brian along with Paul, Spike, Danny and Jamie playing music that's just begging to be played live, doing a tour is not as good as a rubbish attempt at rapping Queen songs on a CD. mmm
Even though this isn't the best thing to listen to, I have to give credit to the guys who made these mixes. Working with BPM's is very difficult and the way they matched the timing on the vocals to the tempo of Queen's music has to be appreciated. These were full Queen songs, too, not just a Vanilla Ice-loop of one riff. Hip-hop may not be the best music out there, but these mixes do show that Queen's music really can work with just about any kind of music. Besides, the Bicycle Race, Don't Stop Me Now, and Keep Yourself Alive mashups on here are brilliant. They actually sound like the songs were really made that way. Play these songs to someone who doesn't know Queen's music and they won't know the difference.
