I got to thinking about Thijs vocals and here's what I got to say:
Imagine, early 1980's, no internet.
Woman comes over to young persons place.
Young person sings a few lines of "Wish You Were Here", it's recorded and he tells the woman, "put this out on the internet in 2005".

I haven't listened to Thijs' performance (he told me not do it!) but I listened to Mahler's songs.
There was if I remember well a 4 pages thread in the Sharing the music section. If I'm not wrong, there was not a single person who liked it. Many persons tried to explain him what was wrong with his singing, but he answered that they were all deaf and hated him or something like that.
This is normal for Mahler. He is a childish attention-seeker and believes that he is a very good person, with no faults. If you say something he doesn't like, you are automatically an enemy and he starts insulting you. He cannot understand what happens in the real world, he lives in his own sad dream world. A poor man, really.
