Shove It (first Cross album) is actually a Roger Taylor solo album that he released under the name The Cross to promote the new live band he had just formed (and went on to record two albums with). It's IMO the weakest of Roger's solo albums.
Mad Bad & Dangerous to Know (2nd Cross album), the first proper Cross album, it's pretty good, doesn't really add anything new or original to the world of music, but is a good old-style classic rock / power ballad album. Roger only wrote two of the songs though, so it's not really "his" songs, any more than Radio GaGa was Freddie's song.
Blue Rock (3rd Cross album) the second proper Cross album. The band are starting to find their own style here rather than just paying homage to the classic rock genre. This album has a darker, slicker feel to it, and it's a pretty good album. Once again Roger only wrote two songs.
So there you go. Shove It is still easily available (the original 1987 stock doesn't seem to have shifted yet!) from queenonline, amazon etc, but it's not a must have IMO. The two real Cross albums are not as rare or expensive as those lying record price guides claim (I found mine easily on E-Bay for £25 and £30 - the price guides say £80 each!) and are both worth getting.
