Best 1980's & 1990's Queen song writer

Freddie was uninspired, Brian's songwriting was restrained by band input and need to fit album concept. John did a reverse Michael Jackson.

Roger developed greatly as a songwriter in the 80's & 90's - having a strong infuemce on these classic songs / hit singles (MHO).

I think Brian was the most consistent writer - I like his seventies material better, but the eighties had Save Me, Hammer To Fall, Who Wants To Live Forever, The Show Must Go On, etc. With Freddie, when he was good, he was great, but when he was bad...you got things like Body Language. Roger definitely improved in the eighties and nineties and came up with some great songs - especially These Are The Days Of Our Lives and Heaven For Everyone. When you compare songs like that to The Loser In The End or Fun It, it's hard to imagine they're even by the same writer. And I like John, but I'm not a huge fan of the funky direction he liked so much - I do love Back Chat, though (mostly for the guitar solo), and Pain Is So Close To Pleasure and One Year Of Love.

Brian's lyrics always have been my favorite (he's my favorite songwriter), maybe for their simply lyrics, more easy to understand, more direct (for who doesn't speak english (like me ;) ) their lyrics are easily "digestible"), but I think in these era four members wrote big songs
