Yes.
tix are gonna be like what, 300 USD or something..I dont think this will be a great event, most bands listed are not so great live, and will be even worse with small setlist and pressure, Im gonna bet more then a few are gonna ruin thier carrers with this and even less make it bigger.

And..with respect..and no offense meant...the music industry and scene Internationally has changed so dramatically in 20 years...
In 1985 you didn't have Rap... and along with booking immense superstars (and Geldof was able to book ALOT more for Live Aid than for Live 8) like Paul McCartney, Queen, The Who, Sting, Phil Collins, Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Sting, Tina Turner, Dire Straits, Patti LaBelle, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Bryan Ferry, Black Sabbath, Madonna,...there were were tons of NEW or Up & Coming artists from the mid 80's who were talented & huge...yes U2...and Simple Minds, Darryl Hall & John Oates, Bryan Adams, INXS, Autograph, Allison Moyet, Paul Young, The Thompson Twins, Howard Jones, etc.
Ths time around, you have less Superstars booked, I don't see Clapton, The Who, Zepplin (or at least Robert Plant & Jimmy Page), Ozzy or Sabbath, Bowie, Jagger, Tina Turner, etc.
and for New or current talent? 50 Cent, Razorlight, Stereophonics, Scissor Sisters, Snoop Dogg, Snow Patrol, Keane, Dido, The Killers, Lauryn Hill...YUCK even for free...I'm not fighting traffic to see these people play. I'm not even that thrilled about watching it on TV.

It does not matter what changes, when you get a bunch of bands toghther to play a few min it always ends up being far below then what you expect.
Even the Freddie tribute concert, sure it was good, but there was always something you wanted to change, when I seen the line-up( at the time I was more of a metal head) I was thinking it was gonna be awesome with GNR-Metallica-Extreme-def lepp
Live aid is good, but face it, most performance's were average or below, the selling point it that they are famous.
