I had always been led to believe that the last photos anywhere of Freddie were tabloid ones. The one where he poses in the garden (which is advertised as being the last he posed for) was in May 1991.

There were plenty of paparazzi snaps after that, were there not?

That's the problem with tabloids. On the one hand they have absolutely no obligation towards veracity, so a six month old photo could very plausibly be sold as being 'taken yesterday afternoon'.

But then, it's also hard to imagine them sitting on the goldmine that is a spooky photo of an ailing celebrity for more than 5 minutes.
