I found a picture of a bra "supposibly" autographed by Brian May. I'm not sure what his auto graph looks like. If I find it I'll post it.

Regarding his feelings on autographs and people who only have intentions of selling them...and what he "owes" his fans for his fame and celebrity status...

You know I was just thinking earlier that even if Brian's post on his website seemed to rub us the wrong way, how are we ever to know what he feels inside and what he's been through on a personal level. Sure, he can write it in a book, post it on a web site, or sing it in a song, but that can't even touch the real and true emotions he may feel or has felt. I'll cut him some slack...

I actually felt sorry for Brian when I read his soapbox ... and I tend to be a Brian basher.

Imagine being "on call" every waking hour just to sign bits of paper or have a photo taken for someone you never met.

Any star who who says he enjoys this exhausting racket is lying through his teeth.

The lesser stars are more likely to put up with this charade because fewer fans make fewer demands.

Yes, you can say they're well paid for it, but I still don't really think that they deserve the intrusion. Even Posh and Becks - I think that they should be allowed to court the press when they want it, but be left alone when they don't. the press is part of their work, but it shouldn't mean that the press have a right to follow them around 24 hrs 7 days a week. there should be laws to stop them tipping off the press and the press from intruding. this could be achieved by having legal documents available agreeing to a press opportunity. without this it would be illegal for press to "hound" a celebrity at home or whatever. it means they couldn't tip the press off themselves because the press would need an official press release or invitation. it would open up the media and mean there was more true and unbiased press.

But celebs and the press don't want this because the way it works is, overall, best for both parties. Even Brian subscibes to this to a certain extent by allowing the press he derides for intruding on his personal life to promote his professional life. Although it could be more his management team interacting with the press than him.

but the point is, that I can understand his view point. The general opinion of Brian is that he's a nice person, but night on night, he's bound to be irritated with people who seem to want lots of his time when he's already spent a day working. A gig doesn't start when he walks on the stage and end when he leaves the stage. There's a lot more to it than that, I'm sure of it.

I'm not saying he's perfect. He definitely could be a little more subtle in his soap box, but try and think of it from his point of view. He might be a multi millionaire 'cause of all the stuff we've bought, but he's put his fair share of work into it, and given himself over to this thing called Queen over the years, so cut him some slack and forgive his rather rash comments.

YOU TRY IT, AND THEN SEE HOW YOU HANDLE ALL THOSE DEMANDS!!!

I'd like a Brian May autograph but I don't have one.

i have watched that man do extrodinary things for fans...

have seen the ugly stuff too

i have watched him be pulled in every direction, prodded and hassled...

handed little bits of paper... handed stacks of albums/cd's/guitar plates (by the same person) and he sign everyone and be gracious about it

didnt matter if he had something to do or be somewhere-- or like in LA they were about to give him and Roger an award... fans didnt care about that...


some do not realize how inudated he is with requests-
be in at a restaurant with his family--
walking the street
trying to work on WWRY
the tour...
it was true at one point he was about 2 years behind on request... 2 years!

of course some will suggest its the price he pays for being the guitar god....

skrew him... i bought his stuff and now its my time for him to give to me....

others will say its ok to barge in on his space cause he owes them for years of loyalty

i dont blame him one iota for feeling the way he does now and again....

i myself would not be so nice about it if i was walking in his shoes

If I had a talent to be some sort of super star, I'd never make it very far bc I'd be in jail for assault!!! I could never handle anyone staring at me, following me, snapping pictures of me and my family, etc. I couldn't do it for any amount of money or fame.

Let Brian vent. It's a small price to pay to for what we get from him.

You ALL talk about Brian and what Roger???? Roger is still worse than Brian!!! I waited for Brian by their hotel but then I must go away. From other Queen fans I know Brian gave autographs in the afternoon. I know a lot of people who have autographs or photos with Brian. What a pity I was not there. I hope I will meet Brian in Cologne.

I had the pleasure of going out on a Stag night in L.A. with two members of a VERY well known rock band. It was a complete nightmare, the fans just made life so bloody unbearable. The guys (and I) feared for our safety numerous times, and if they want to call themselves fans they really need to adjust their behaviour, and most of it was for autographs and photo's.

After coming off the mainstream areas of LA, we relaxed and chatted to both guys, and I was amazed to find that the guys witness that EVERY time they dare to venture into the public.

I have to say it was bloody frightening, and if Bri has had similar, I'm not surprised he's pissed off.

well for my part, I had the extreme good fortune to be in the same place at the same time as Brian by fluke. He waited for me to get Made In Heaven and Back To The Light from the car and signed them both for me. He was an absolute gentleman and a delight to talk to, if only for a few moments.
