Wasn't the bootlegger the owner of that venue where Queen played?
I don't know how that myth started. The taper certainly did not have any association with Chicago Stadium. He was a regular fan who (apparently) managed to smuggle in a superb recording device.

Then... If Manchester has to be added... Add Drammen 82 as well.
Obviously you don't have that gig.

I'd add Chicago '80. The sound is great (soundboard I think), and it's a really good show.

I'll add Montreal 81.11.24/25, that's a soundboard recording.

Chicago 80 is indeed a wonderful recording (If you have the mastertape version). It's 100% an audience recording.

Hmmm.. I think my all time favourite bootleg is Brian May live in Urtrecht, The Netherlands, 1998.
But that's only because it was the first queen related concert I ever visited. And also the first bootleg I had from a concert that I visited.

Luckily I do have the mastertape version. Now I listen to it again, its clear that it's an audience recording, but by God, what a recording. What is it about Chicago? Awesome accoustics, or is there something in that myth about the owner of the venue? :)
