From Martin's site about the Dublin '86 show:
''Brian once mentioned that playing in Ireland was their worst experience (= worst audience) ever, Brian was even hit by a beer can and almost refused to play the encore.''

Come on you cant judge us all as drunks! Im sure there were drunks at other Queen concerts (?) I hope the rest of the planet dosn't think we're all alcoholics!:-{ Anywho I wouldn't've minded if they played God Save the Queen.
Okay this question is directed at everyone who was at the Dublin concert '05-Is it just me or did Brian play a bit of Molly Malone in his guitar solo???

Read my post above. I replied to Linda: ''I don't judge you, but Brian did.''

Queen played Ireland 4 times, the crazy tour kicked off in dublin on 22.11.1979 .A planned concert for Cork city hall 20.11.1979 was cancelled for unknown reasons.

There were two dates for the works tour in dublin 28.08.1984 & 29.08.1984.There is an audio copy of the first date.

The final date in Ireland was on the magic tour 05.07.1986 Slane, County Meath. This concert avalable on bootleg video and audio.

As far as I know any gigs they played here were sell outs. As for Slane, I was 12 at the time and chose getting a game for the ol' Commodore 64 instead of going to the concert........I'll never forgive myself.

It might be different up the north but everyone I know, bar one eejit, either likes or has a soft spot for Queen.

Only the dumbest of the dumb would think Queen were any way political and hold it against them. That said, there are still a lot of biggotted, simple minded people in Ireland that would use any excuse to take a dig at anything British. There seemed to be quite a few at the Slane Gig unfortunately.

BTW, my girlfriend has recently become a big fan. We went to see the WWRY musical in Las Vegas and she fell in love. Now I can listen to as much Queen as I want in her car!! :)
