I have a few questions about Freddie
Before i start, you must all know i love freddie as much as all you do, so there is absoloutely no dis-respect here.
1. How come Freddie looked normal and healthy at Wembley concert in 86, and in 1987 1 year later he looked terrible and ill, during the time of Barcelona with Montserrat caballe.
2. In the say mid 80s if Freddie has stopped getting up to his personal things with other gay men, could he maybe had not got full-blown AIDS
3. Were the rest of Queen very upset about Freddies condition, (i saw this thing once wear Roger was crying on an interview, when they were talking about Freddies final years)

ok... in answer to your question about why he looked so ill so fast... AIDS itself doesn't cause any symptoms other than lowering the white blood cell count. white blood cells fight diease, and without them other dieases, things that a healthy person wouldn't even notice, like a cold or even acne could get so badly infected it could be fatal. freddie probably lost weight and got so ill all of a sudden because of one these "opportunistic" diseases took advantage of his weak immune system and it took him months and months to get over it.
secondly, if he'd stopped his noturnal activities with guys,m it wouldn't make a difference to the time he developed full AIDS or even the development at all. to become HIV positive, in theory, only a few hundred virus cells need to be present in the blood, there's a fairly high risk factor even if just one virus cell was in the blood, the speed they reproduce at it wouldn't make a difference in the end.

I coulda sworn Freddie was offed by bronchial pneumonia, onset by AIDS.
Pretty sure that's what caused it.
Then again, I have a relative who's immunodeficient right now (leukemia), and lemme tell you, it's kinda difficult to follow the guidelines.

I don't know about coke, but..I have posted this MANY times on QZ and people ignore it (which they should NOT do)...but...
in New York, USA, a few months ago, the USA Center for Disease Control and some doctors there, are TERRIFIED of a NEW mutation, strain of the AIDS virus.
They treated a man, who died of AIDS, but here is the history of WHY the doctors are so scared.
The man got the HIV virus, and instead of it taking years to become positive, and turn into AIDS, which as you know with proper AZT medication usually nowadays a person can live a decade or more...
..but this man got the virus..and within literally like 2 or 3 weeks it developed into FULL BLOWN AIDS and resisted every form of current available mediaction, and the man died in a few WEEKS.

.... taking LARGE does of Crystal Meth... daily.

So..in this day and age..for people to NOT practice safe, monogamous sex, and to abuse drugs like that...I mean this is 2005, NOT 1985. People here in the USA are eduated and informed, and STILL they play Russian Roulette with their lives. Stupid.

About fucking time someone straightened out the whole 'how AIDS kills you' myth - can't say I know you too well evil_felix_girl, but I like what you had to say - SHOT WOMAN!! ;) Nothing there I couldn't have said better myself.
As for the question about the other guys being upset about Freddie dying, well, I don't know really know how Brian reacted but I read somewhere that John locked himself in the recording studio on his own for a few days 'cos he was so devastated.
