1991-12 Brian + Roger - Interview ITV.mpg - 179 MB (a big file, but a good one)
This is an 18 minute video of Brian and Roger on morning televsion the week after Freddie's death. Brian and Roger are quite open as to why they are doing this interview so soon after Freddie's death and are vocal not only about their feelings toward him but also toward the press.
In later interviews, say around the time of NOBY in 1997, Brian and Roger are more calm and nostalgic about Freddie. Here they are quite emotional (no crying, though) and angry, probably as much as I've ever seen them. Though I do not have an particular obsession with Freddie's death, I think this is not only very interesting for fans but almost historical in terms of Queen.
Highlights include a few jabs at the British tabliods, talking about re-releasing BoRap, early mention of a ''tribute concert,'' and magician Paul Daniels' opinion on AIDS (you have to watch it to understand).
Downloaded from the hub a long time ago. Thanks to whomever brought in originally. It's never too late to join the hub, and with the amount of material floating around QZ, it should be easy.
One request - In the interview they say that Freddie passed ''last week''. If anyone knows the exact date of this interview (which would be late-Nov/early-Dec), please pass it along.

If this is the TVAM / GMTV interview then from memory I think this was the on the Monday the week after Freddie died - so that would be 2nd December.
Brian was due to appear on the show on the Monday the day after Freddies death as Driven By You was being released that day, but for obvious reasons he did not appear.
Thanks for posting this, I have my original VHS copy from the time it was shown, but as the quality has deteriorated over the years, I've had no joy in copying it to DVD.

Excellent, that's the info I was looking for. It sounds like we are talking about the same thing, especially the TV AM comment, but since this is British TV (and I'm not British) I'm not 100% positive. Is ITV correct or should it be GMTV?

The channel is ITV, the show was called TVAM.
GMTV was what the show changed its name to, but I wasn't sure whether the name change had happened at this time.
Thanks again.

It was still TV-Am in 1991. The change to GM TV happened later around 1993.

I don't know english very well (i'm from Italy), but I understod something... but just a thing made me thinking: that opinionist?! was he pro or against Freddie?! I didn't understand this!
He seemed too cool...
Roger's eyes were full of sadness... did you notice it?
