well, i'm a couple of days from my flight to america...
first time...up to now we've only ever done Europe and Nth Africa for holidays

but this is our 'big one' - Our son has just finished his school exams - so this holiday was his choice....

we start in san diego, then phoenix, grand canyon, las vegas, san fran, anaheim, hollywood, LA (with a few other stops in between)

Any Mall, dicks sporting good and MC sports are 2 big chains, most are near malls, since you are going to cities with Major sports teams, bascially any place will have stuff from home teams, even crappy ass walmart sells local team stuff( cheap, cuz it's the shitty brand)
Malls will have Nike-Addias and Reebok, I'm sure some of those cities will have Nike Outlet stores, great deals eh!

You should go to Circuit City when you're looking for music. Their cds are REALLY cheap, and sometimes they have really good sales. I bought an Alice Cooper cd there once for something like 5 dollars.

I bought 'The Spaguetti Incident' by Guns N' Roses for $5.99, and even though it was more than half price off, I still felt ripped off.

I noticed you are skipping the "Land of Amanda"...otherwise known as Missouri - that's fine... go to all the exciting places like Vegas and Anaheim. See if I care. *sniffle*

Grand Canyon is terrific. If you are driving, don't forget to stop at the Hoover Dam on the way from there to Las Vegas.

Any mall will have both music stores and sports stores in the area. I'd suggest Best Buy along with Circuit City, though few of the mainstream stores carry anything really rare or hard-to-find. There are some great record stores in LA, just check out the phone book when you get to town.

it's an organised package trip - all done by the travel agents....

my choice would take in New England - but that will be another year - maybe around October time to see the Patriots in full flight, and witness the Red Sox take another world series...altough i don't think i'll live to be 176 ;-)

You're going to have an excellent time! There are beautiful sites in the West. The landscaping where you are going is very very different from where you live. You'll be pleasantly surprised!!!

yeah. but after twenty years of being a patriots and red sox fan (i watched Cheers) - it's finally a great feeling to see it happening

i remember watching the patriots/bears game in SBXX until well into the early morning, and how crap i felt after the embarassment of watching Eason & co get beaten to a pulp...then waiting another dozen years to watch bleds get battered by the pack.

but times change...sometimes for the better
