How come Queen+Paul Rodgers aren't to be at Live 8?

Hello,
How come Queen and Paul Rodgers are not going to be at Live 8?, I think they certainly deserve to be there, No Live 8 would not be the same without Queen

Apparently there's going to be a satellite link with Portugal... Fuckin' hell- we had that question 129675 times!!!

Well I saw this one today from tthe Latest Queen news(On Queenzone).Check this out:
It has been announced from a Uk radio station that Queen will play in the live8 concert via a satelite link from their concert in Lisbon. Not sure if Queen will be playing or just be in a video message.

And I found it on:

How can the headline say ''Queen will be playing..." and in the article it says ''performance'' and then again one is not sure if they are playing or just leave a message? I don't get it...

Well,I suppose if they're gonna leave a message it would be like:''Sorry we couldn't join Live 8 but we had a concert in Lisboa or something like that.''
But if they're gonna play sth it would be live.

Let's just hope they play a song or two...for the Live 8 cause and the world (via satellite of course from their show in Portugal)

Well...you are not the only one. I don't have cable either. :(

I was very lucky with the original Live Aid. While it was on MTV in 1985, I didn't have cable then either. BUT...ABC broadcast most of it as did another non cable station here in Maryland, and our local FM radio station, 98 Rock, simulcast it, so I watched it from 7:00am EST in the USA, when it began in the UK at 12:00 pm their time, til like 11:00pm that night when it ended here in the USA.

I turned the sound down on my TV, and CRANKED up the volume on my stereo radio receiver...and had a blast!

But...I will miss Live 8, and with it a part of history and a music event you won't see the likes of again.

No I meant that I will not be able to watch
Live 8 , which is historic, (like Live Aid)because I have no cable and Live 8 is only being shown on cable TV.

It's a shame that they won't be adding a song to that videotaped message....I'd like to think maybe there is still a shred of hope and it's a surprise....heck even if it was a loose jam in warmup...
