I happen to like Michael Buble, NOT a lot, but he's ok for trying to be a Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick clone and keeping that type of standard music crooning singing alive.
....But Welcome To MY Nighttmare!....
Saturday night I was walking aroung Barnes and Nobles Book and Music Store. I hear what I THINK, is some awful lounge lizard trying to sing ''Crazy Little Thing Called Love'' in typical lounge lizard style over the store's PA system.
So I run to the record section, and I ask the Manager, WHO is this singing CLTCL, and on what album?
The Manager shows me a 2003 CD by Michael Buble called, ''Michael Buble'' where he does all covers.
Well, if you heard Buble's version, now I am totally open and objective to people re-interpreting a song they cover in a diffrent style.
Sometime it turns out GREAT or even BETTER than the original. This...is NOT the case.
If anyone out there has watched Saturday Night Live in its heydey when Bill Murray used to weekly do a comedy sketch about a Las Vegas motel 6 Lounge singer hamming up Frank Sinatra tunes and rock tunes, like Murray's famous lounge lizard take on Wang Chung's ''Everybody Wany Chung Tonight'' that is a classic and is hilarious.. but ON PURPOSE! You were SUPPOSED to laugh at it or rather, with it.
Michael Buble's version of CLTCL was horrifying! Like some mind control evil force infecting my brain!
The Store manager said the same thing to me and we were both cracking up and we BOTH said that whereever Freddie is, he's either having one hell of a laugh, or flipping in his grave.
Oh..the INSANITY! I kept half expecting Michael Buble to sing...a ring a ding ding!
Has anybody else out there heard it?
If you had Thoroughly read this...I distinctly state that the CD is from...2003.
That the store Manager showed me the CD from..2003.
..but this was the first I had heard of it was all.
