Hi folks, let's meet very close to the stadion in a restaurant/biergarten called Stadtwaldgarten. We can sit inside or outside depending on the weather and we can get food if we want.
The Stadtwaldgarten is only 100 m away from the main entrance of the Rhein Energie Stadion in the Aachener Strasse 701. The tram station "Alter Militärring" is right across the street. This tram station is also the closest to the stadion, so if you come with the train, take the line 1 towards 'Weiden' and exit station 'Alter Militärring'. You'll be right in front of the restaurant.
Arriving with the car it's strongly recommended to come via Autobahnkreuz West
exit B55 and follow the B55 for about 4 km, it's the Aachener Strasse.

The pentagon marks the restaurant, the Queen crest the stadion.
Thanks a lot to Frank39 who lives in Cologne and did the scouting and provided the map, he will come, too.
edit: trying to unstick this

Where did you found the map?
Could you kindly post the link to it? 'cause I'd need a bigger one, with my hostel and the train station at least...

Great! See you all there.
(I'll bring all the 'stuff', Barbara ;-)
What time?
We actually wanted to be at the stadium realy early (like 14.00 - 15.00'ish), to make sure we get inside the "golden circle"...

I don't think you need to queue that early, Jeroen, we won't be there earlier than 3:00 PM. Only if you HAVE to be in 1st row you must queue before 5:00 PM. It's a big brandnew stadium with numerous gates, I think it's more about running fast than about queuing early.

For you 3:00 PM is queueing early??!?!?!???!??!
Oh guys, if you were in Italy you'd find people out of the gates fron very very early morning... and it's always a big fight :)
PS: thanks for the map!

Are you sure YV??
I'm just thinking how things would go in Holland (and how they WILL go next Sunday in Arnhem): at a certain time a group of people will be let inside a secured area of the queue, they all get an armwrist to get in the golden cirkel. If the gates of the secured area have closed again(at the time there are as much people as they will let inside the golden circle), there is no chance you will ever get in there... My experience with these kind of shows is that the secured area opens round 14.00 - 15.00 hours...
People in there will be let inside the venue first, after which the golden circle closes and the other people are let in... :-S
I dunno, do you think Germany will be different?
I don't need to be all the way up front, (Au contraire - you understand why ;-) but the golden circle would be nice...
No, I am not sure. It was not like that in the old stadium but I haven't been there for a while. I'll make some phone calls tomorrow andd find out about the admission.
Great YV! :)
I was thinking about the situation in Holland (and yes, I've seen the Italians too ;-))) but I guess you are probably right. I already got the impression that Germans are not such early risers ;-)

I'm sure I'll appear at the meeting but the problem is that I'll be there with some friends who will undoubtedly want to go to the hotel and get some autographs before the concert (and we have seating tickets this time => no queuing). So I don't know how we make it...
What? You got seated tickets, Martin??
:-(
And I was looking forward to swaying with you on WATC with the musical cast... ;-)
Oh and you better make it to that meeting!!

WHERE, WHEN, HOW...????????
Jeroen, I promise I'll try to make it to the meeting but we won't arrive to Cologne before 2pm or so. It's 700 km far from here.
Don't get excited, the chances to get an autograph before the show are close to zero. The band will be escorted out of the hotel, they will be nervous as hell and the last thing they want is to sign something. While they will be rushed to the venue you will be stuck in the traffic and late for the concert. Better come to the meeting and leave the stalking to the groupies :) Don't forget this is a 50 000 people event and security will be very tight.
