Quicktime - Widows Xvid etc

I have bought a new stand alone DVD player which allows me to play internet downloads.

It accepts Windows Media and most videolan type stuff - Xvid, AVI, Mpeg etc.

However, it does not play/recognise Quicktime files.

How do I convert Quicktime into a more friendlier compatable version?

Thanks for that. I have no idea how to use it - but it will be fun finding out!
