Wait. You encoded this into FLAC from an mp3?

I'm sure the torrent is appreciated, but once you reduce a file to mp3, there is little benefit in making it into a wav or flac. The quality is lost already and can't be recovered by making the file larger.

I have the MP3 version of this gig. This one is better? Thank you.

That`s crap, better to share the mp3 version. That`s smaller, and people won`t be confused.

Why?? Flac's only reason for existence is to make wave files smaller and more manageable for trading. This was already a lossy, small size download. You have just turned it into a lossy sourced large size download. There is no reason to do that.

Don't upload the 2nd one please. It's against all sharing / trading conventions to encode lossy material into wav/flac.

Maybe you didn't realise what you were doing, but I think you should remove this thread altogether.

All I wanted to do was to help those who were requesting to get finished their download in the previous post of this concert. Because I had the mp3 concert in its entirity but when I started to seed it got stucked at 96%. It seems that I was a little stupid in converting mp3 into flac I just thought it would have been better but I was wrong I think. At the moment there are 12 peers downloading this concert. I will upload CD 2 if they request it. Sorry for disturbing you.

just wondering if there´ll be a disc two soon. If there is I´m looking forward to very much. and by the way keep handing out them flacsongs. Everythings better with flac and they´re sounding much better then mp3´s. Cheers Freddie; Sweden

That's correct. A flac encoding actually doesn't have any effect on the quality of the recordings, neither does it improve the sound nor is it harmful to it. It's just a lossless compression format of audio files, so wav files can be compressed without losing quality, but if a file has already been mp3 sourced a flac encoding doesn't add anything to the sound quality, it just increases the file sizes. There is a huge loss of information when converting wav files to mp3 which can't be recovered anymore.

If you upload disc 2, just upload it as an mp3 torrent. There is absolutely no need (quite the opposite) to turn it into flac.

If people don't understand the differences and issues involved, do some research. There's this blood great research tool called the Internet at your fingers.
