A bit early, but Bush is visiting Copenhagen right now, and there it is already July 6th, so...

Happy 59th birthday President Bush!

Happy biiirthday to you,
Happy biiirthday Mr. President,

I'm gonna have to strongly agree with Mandy. This message board has been almost political free since November, and it's been a hell of a relief to do so. What sickens me about politics is that each political side is trying to push more and more towards their side instead of calmly being able to discuss things and find points to agree on. I'm a moderate liberal, and I have to tell you guys that it's a pleasure to discuss political matters with a moderate conservative. Yet, when it comes to discussing things with an extremist, it's all bound to become a politically correct shithole.

Are you trying to say I am an extremist? I simply am not in the mood to have death wished upon someone. I will have and have in the past reacted in the same way when someone wished death on Senator Kerry.

Well you seem to like extremists quite a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if you were fond of John Bolton or Joseph McCarthy.

Hmmm... Is John McCain an extremist? He is in favor of John Bolton! And for the record, yes, I am in favor of Bolton.

As far as McCarthy goes, all he wanted was recognition, he did not really accomplish anything except stepping on people's toes. Apparently, along the way, he had sex with men (not that there's anything wrong with that... but Joe McCarthy?!). As far as McCarthys are concerned, I much prefer Eugene.

Mandy -- you are certainly entitled to your opinion here but as this a Queen noticeboard and very non-political you will get other opinions.

Personally I am not a Bush supporter but as he is my President I have to support him as my President and the representative of my country which I love. I do not agree with his views and as of Iraq I support our troops there but did not agree with invading another country without proof of eminent danger to our own. They never did find and WMDs and even if Saddam is a very bad man, it still wasn't our right to invade Iraq without due cause.

I hope the president has a happy birthday but I know a lot of children who will never see their fathers again after having died in this war, i hope our president appreciates their sacrifice in this war.

KRIZZY! Where have you been, girl? I've missed ya! :D

Gotta dsagree with you on this one, though. This board is ANYTHING but non-political. It does not have a particularly large conservative population, however.

What I'm saying, though, is...why are we geting all uppity and snippy just because someone has the nerve to disagree with us? As a "red state liberal" I put up with that kind of crap constantly, and when we do it, that doesn't make us any better than them. Is it really such a terrible thing to say "Happy Birthday" to someone?
God wants you to send me some money. "Seven spades doubled, vulnerable, making seven? You BITCH."

So am I an extremist? Can I ask, if I were an extremist, why would I be on a Queen board if the stereotypical right-wing extremist would most likely be anti-gay?

I dunno, but you seem to be walking down that path. Besides, a lot of the fellas you seem to admire so much are not particularly fond of gay people, and seem quite homophobic.

People I seem to admire...
You mean like Dick Cheney with the gay daughter? Or perhaps you mean Brian Epstein?

Yeah, that same dude. The one who never acknowledges being proud of his daughter and despises being reminded that she's a lesbian.
