Just woke up from a long night sleep after the cologne show...

Yes, it was a great show... It was my first 'seated' queen experience and it was nice to look at the show from a distance for a while.

Too bad the show wasn't sold out, there were many plaes left, mainly on the east tribune, but also some on the north and a few on the west. The Arena wasn't ompletely filled as wel, maybe 3/4. Where are al those german fans??

But nonetheless, about 30.000 people going crazy on a Queen concert gives me the shivers anyway. Audience on the tribunes DID participate, with radio Gaga everybody was standing and clapping along where we were.

Leon, are you getting my e-mails???

Indeed the setlist was boring.
Indeed the weather was horrible ;-)
But both of them did not keep us from having one of the greatest nights of our lives! The band played THAT well that we forgot about all this.

For anyone who didn't watched the Auto Cue right after Love of my Life.

When brian sang the last words of Love of my Life you could see the words "Is this the World We Created" on the bottom of the auto-cue. So my guess is that they made the auto cue for the stadium gigs. So i think they will play it in Arnhem.

I'm NOT kidding!

Another great show and another night out with cool, fun loving Queen fans. We had a fantastic time and I am really sorry it's over for now.

What was the deal with the WWRY cast jumping around on the cat walk/stage to WWRY and WATC? Not that we needed them to perform anything but this zero-performance does not count as a support act or special guest, sorry. It was just a cheap promotion stunt.
I do not want any google ads here.

Boring setlist, no changes.

Band in perfect shape except for Brian fucking up the beginning of I Want To Break Free.

Audience - hard to say. Some people say the Cologne audience was really bad, on the other hand I saw a lot of people clapping hands and singing along. Pity that one third of the stadium was empty.

Weather - this was my first seated gig so I didn't care about the rain :-)

I parked my car right besides the four Queen limousines, that was really cool :-) After the gig we were forced to leave the garage though because Queen were leaving the stadium quite early :-( Luckily we got some autographs at the hotel. Paul Rodgers surprisingly enough refused to sign anything (he's normally very kind and always willing to meet the fans) and Roger decided to enter through the underground garages to avoid meeting the fans (no surprise). Other band members were very kind.

Cologne - I don't think I ever got lost more than in Cologne. We had our hostel just 5 min. away from the band's hotel but it still took us over one hour to get there! We were cruising the city in circles and swearing. So many one-way streets etc. And we didn't have a detailed map, of course :-)

@ all: don't get me wrong...the concert was great..I loved it and the band was magnificant...but from my point of view the "seated" audience was crap...sorry for that hard words but maybe my impression of Dortmund is too strong. There everyone was standing from the very beginning up to the end. But..it's my personal opinion..:-)[/QUOTE]

You should be attending the Lisbon concert, it was just like Brian said- LISBON ROCKS. I mean it, we sang every single song. You just can`t let Brian sing 39 and Love of my live by himself. It`s a sin!!!

Let me tell you, when Love of my life started the Portuguese crowd started to sing after the first phrase on the guitar (as you know Brian has to repeat the phrase and only then we can start singuing). Everybody knew they were out of time, but because a few started to sing everyone else joined them because we wanted to be heard. So, Brian repeated the phrase and then he smiled and told the crowd that now we could sing, so we started everything again. Pure joy!!!

IN `39 i noticed that Brian wasn`t shore if the crowd knew the song, so when he started the chorus it was just amazing, he only sang a few lines until all the crowd took the vocals. It was fantastic and i really hope that they put the highlights of the open air gigs at the upcomong DVD`s.

The diference between Portugal and Germany might be the whether and the day. In Portugal it was saturday with great whether, so the crowd was more relaxed.

Take care

Cologne was my first Queen Concert and it was great. I had a seat on the east side (on the block near the field). The block was full before the concert started. I don't know how full the higher blocks on the east side were.
The west side needed some time to become full.

It needed quite some time until the good atmosphere from the infield went over to the seated places. The people were very restless and went in and out again, to get something to drink and to eat. (Radio GaGa was the start and then we were standing until the end of the concert)

Also many people had problems to find their seats, during a football game the security works much better and guides the people to their seats.

I was wondering why the concert was not solded out. I bought my card at the end of March and at that point I had not much choice (only infield, north and a few cards on the east and west blocks).
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die

Silvia, were you at the hotel after the gig? I remember there were about 20 of us there. I missed Paul but he didn't sign anything anyway. I came just in time for the rest of the band.

No, I met the band before the gig, from 12:30 to 15:30 around.
When they came at the hotel?? So they spent the night in Cologne end flew to London the next day...
