In each case we want John back! But it would not like to return!
Sorry for my terrible english ;) Out in the city, in the cold world outside I don't want pity, just a safe place to hide Mama please, let me back inside

If he doesn't want to, then no I don't. Why can't the guy retire in peace?

I want, but it's up to him.

Really people, John wasn't THAT good of a Bass player.. he was average, his biggest talent was his songwriting, and the fact he was linked to Queen.... if the man wants to retire then LET HIM BE.. He has done his bit for Queen and Country.... I think the guy they have playing Bass with them now is just as good as John..
My Brothers and Sisters all hated me 'cause I was an only child... -Weird Al (Generic Blues) I gave up on books when 'To Kill A Mockingbird' gave me no useful advice on how to kill a mockingbird.

I would love that but also know it's not going to happen, so wish John happy retirement and... best of luck. It's all right (now) anyway... Danny's doinga great job...

Yet another inconlusive thread about John re-joinig the band. I think he never will. Times have changed, you cannot expect him change his mind an get back on stage like nothing ever happened. He wished the remaining members well and agreed with the idea of using the name Queen in their pursues, end of story.
C'est la vie.

Mike Preston, do you have any idea how stupid that statement is about John's bass playing? Music is about taste, style and the ability to play the right notes, not lots of notes. Was John a virtuoso? No. Did he want to be a virtuoso? No. Could he play super fast if he wanted to? Of course. What's "average" bass playing? John Deacon was amazing because he played for the song, and usually perfectly. If speed or virtuosity is the standard that you're using to call him average, I apologize. If not, your comments are based on musical ignorance.
You know, good times are now.

John was/is a wonderful bass player, horribly under-rated.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

i totally agree with sebastian, he is an amazing bass player. People are too harsh on john for some reason.....poor guy.

It could be great see him live on a stage but on the other way he was the only one member who did not want tour without Freddie. I am admiring him for it. I always thought Freddie and John was only the band members but I start to think they were very good friends. And now John decided to do Freddie proud by decision not tour again. It is my oppinion even if this concert was for many of us a kind of commemorative one. Be as it may the best would be see live an old good band with all members Freddie, Roger, Brian and John...would not it? :)

We all want John back... but like everybody know. It will never be. So.. let it be and stop thinking of it.

Sack Paul Rodgers and he might reconsider.
