With only 4 days to go till England take on the Ausses in Cricket's Ashes what are your predictions?

I think it will be very close but I am pleased that Pieterson has been given a chance I still think its a huge gamble to not select the experienced Thorpe with balls coming in from Brett Lee and McGrath. England's bowlers look sharp Harmison still continues to excite me and Freddie Flintoff has come on leaps and bounds after being an over-weight piss head he's now one of countries brightest hopes. Who says fairy tales don't happen!

The battle of the two captains will be interesting Ponting is a better batsman than Vaughan but I also think Vaughan is a better Captain. Whatever happens it will be very good and I'm going (weather permitting) for a 3-2 win for England.
Guess who's back?
O
well australia haven't been playing their best lately. But as ou said Brett Lee is in fine form. And Warne is back so i think that australia may have the upper hand.

I think we have a chance but with the poor show we put in the last ODI my optinism has faded slightly.
It's a really good XI though, and if 8 or 9 perform really well the same days we can win it. Ashley Giles is really dependable with bat and ball which gives us a strong tail and a good bowling line up when Harmi and Hoggard are firing correctly.
I reckon we'll win 3-1 with the rain saving us on one occassion.
If we didn't pick England to win we deserve to be shot!

Having Pieterson and Flintoff in the same team worries me. Both play a similiar game - so 30-3 could easily become 50-5.

But this is by far the best england team in years.

Key contest: england bowlers vs Gilchrist. He is by far the most dangerous Test batsman in the world. You haven't bowled out the Aussies until you get Gilchrist out. Aus 250-6 with him in can become 400 all out. If they can contain him - they have a decent chance.

I think next summer with England slightly more experienced and Australia even older, this migh have been even.

This summer is too soon. Australia to have won the series by the end of the fourth test.

Looking forward to taking a tenner off young Flashman after Australia retain the Ashes and I keep the bragging rights for a couple more years.

we've no ancestral halls, no haughty portraits on our walls, no family monuments at all, unless it's my cousin sheila's stupendous clevage.

well they are well and truly under way now. Come on boys. Four early wickets, lets hope we build on this!

Sodding Glenn McGrath! Was happy as pie at work for once, until the last 30 mins.

I know what you mean Eggy. Everytime I left my computer at work and come back another wicket had fallen. What's going on?
Guess who's back?

Normal service has been resumed.

i've often wondered, if australia is so bloody great, as they like to remind us, why is seemingly the entire youth population of australia working in bars in london?

We don't want to disturb the balance of all the backpackers in Australia.

'Ey mate, bum a fag off you?'
'No, go home'

Anywho I think we now realise that England/English press made a tiny mistake about saying Australia is on the way out. h0h0, ownned Marcus Trescothick.

Well as no one else seemed interested about probably the best game of cricket I have seen ever... What a match. 3 and a half days of awesome tension. We had the box seat from Thursday lunch till Sat morning. Then after a morning of throwing it all away super Fred hit that super knock which put us right back in it. Then after some good bowling we almost lose it to some awesome displays by Warney and Brett Lee. 2 fucking runs, the moment I was ready to throw in the towel we got the wicket. I really thought after Simon Jones dropped that catch it was all over.

1 - 1. I have to say I think the Aussies are favourites for Old Trafford but I reckon we can win the series 3-2 with a thriller at the oval, where I shall be attendance!
