Why not continue reading in "all the places" you "keep seeing" it? If they don't give you more info, they may tell you where to look.

Well, I was there, and everyone seemed fine to me, bloody good show, regardless of what people may say.
That's the one where Tony Hadley got up with them wasn't it? I read somehwere he was looking for a boot of the show :) (he was probably just as pissed as Freddie and can't remember a thing :))
OK, I just looked at the queenconcerts link and all is answered. Must have been a fun show.

Another NZer! Woohoo - Kia Ora!
I have all the news paper articles from this show and their visit to New Zealand in 1985.
Unfortunately I am in the UK at the moment otherwise I would post them up for you cos some of the articles are quite a good read.I have shared these articles with other NZ fans so maybe they might see this and be able to post them up.
The jist of some of the articles:
1.Freddie and entourage went to DeBretts Hotel (cnr High St + Shortland St)in Auckland Central- at the time it was quite an upmarket place- Freddie was in trade mark singlet at the time and was asked to leave by the duty manager as he did'nt meet the dress code. The manager (some daft woman) was not aware who he was. He and his crew happily moved on to another drinking establishment- as the article mentions a more working-class environment which Freddie just loved and flourished in with the more rowdy locals- some of whom knew who he was.
2. The show started late- as Freddie and Tony Hadley had been hard at the Vodka- it is said that this is one of the few performances that Freddie was really pissed but still managed to sort of pull it off. Although one article mentions that Freddie forgot some lyrics and Brian and Roger had to jump in to carry it through.
3. The whole concert was filmed by TVNZ and is still in their vaults. TVNZ own the rights to this film although I don't know if it can be released officially without conjoint permission from QP. However many years ago when I was an unstoppable and persistent Queen fan I talked to some guy in the TVNZ filmarchive- he advised me that the entire film of the show could be bought, but it was something like NZ$15,000 - not sure if this is a realistic figure or if he was just trying to get rid of me ??
Hope that adds a bit of light to their only tour to Godzone !!

I doubt that's true about TVNZ - I emailed someone at the archive department and the only thing they had was a news article on the show.
So I believe that "filmed by a local TV channel" thing to be only a rumour.

Was that film not bought 4 years ago?
I was under the impression some one bought it.

I can't imagine TVNZ doing anything that useful.
Whoa, two Kiwi fans out there (aside from me). Any of you speak Maori? I mean, more than just the hellos?
